Carpenter's Complete, Inc.

Review: Below I have outlined the major issues that we have encountered with [redacted] and Carpenters Complete, Inc.1. Less than half the work is done after ten and a half months on a bathroom addition, kitchen renovation, and painting/siding project. [redacted] assured us that the job would be done in 3 months. There have been long delays (up to 6 weeks) with little or no work completed. No work has been done for the last 30 days and there has been no contact from [redacted] or CCI whatsoever.2. [redacted] is holding over 80% of the total cost of the project with less than 50% of the work completed. A formal request to return the money for uncompleted work or to finish the work within a reasonable time frame has be ignored. 3. While some of the work completed is acceptable, the work in many areas - flooring, siding, painting, framing- is clearly substandard and unacceptable. Complaints have be met in the past with comments suggesting that it will all work out in the end.4. Before the most recent cessation of work (and we have no reason to expect he will return) [redacted] provided a detailed, somewhat aggressive schedule of how the work would be completed and requested the 3rd installment ($19,000). Since 2/3 of the work was not completed, he agreed to accept a partial payment ($12,000). He almost immediately abandoned the work site stating that he had other commitments, and he advised us that we had two choices: 1) accept that he would not adhere to the schedule, but that he would eventually get back to us, or 2) as he stated, have your lawyer contact mine. After 2 weeks we chose the latter, and after after an additional 2 weeks with no reply to our request to finish work or return the money for unfinished work, we filed suit.5. With work again stopped in mid-stream for over a month, we have dangerously low hanging main power lines, cable lines hanging on the neighbors carport roof, unenclosed outer walls, two holes in our interior walls with exposed electrical wiring and insulation, a backyard, carport and side alley way littered with construction materials, and a host of other issues that make everyday living inconvenient if not dangerous. Before he abandoned the site over a month ago, [redacted] made no effort to mitigate these issues.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for services not rendered per contract and to remediate substandard work, approximately $35,000.

Review: [redacted] OWNER OF CARPENTERS COMPLETE, DOES NOT PAY HIS SUBCONTRACTORS FOR WORK DONE AT HIS PROJECT IN FULL. HE PROMISES THAT HE WILL PAY WHEN HE GETS MONEY. I'VE BEEN WAITING 7 MONTHS FOR REMAINING OVERDUE INVOICE AND HAD TO HIRE LEGAL HELP TO COLLECT.I WENT TO THE DENTIST WHERE THE WORK WAS DONE TO SEE IF THERE WAS SOME TYPE OF PROBLEM. THE DENTIST SAID THAT HE WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK THAT I PREFORMED AND THAT HE HAD A LAW SUIT AGAINST CONTRACTOR [C.C.I.] FOR NUMEROUS PROBLEMS THAT HE WOULD NOT CORRECT. MATERIAL SUPPLIERS HAD CONTACTED HIM BECAUSE C.C.I. HASN'T PAYED FOR MATERIALS,AND ELECTRICIAN, AIR CONDITION, AND OTHER SUBCONTRACTORS HAVE NOT BEEN PAYED ALSO.THE DENTIST WAS VERY SORRY THAT I DID NOT GET PAYED AND TOLD ME THAT C.C.I. WAS PAYED FOR THE WORK THAT I PERFORMED IN FULL AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT LEGAL HELP AND TO KEEP HIM IN THE LOOP.I AM A LIC. MEDICAL GAS INSTALLER [ OXYGEN / NITROUS OXIDE / VACUUM / ETC.] CONTRACTOR AND ALSO LIC. MASTER PLUMBER, LIC. BACKFLOW SPECIALIST, LIC. D.H.H. UTILITY WATER OPERATOR AND HAVE BEEN IN BUSS. FOR 27 YRS. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH A GEN. CONTRACTOR WHO WAS HAPPY WITH MY PERFORMANCE BUT UNABLE TO PAY BECAUSE OF MISMANAGEMENT OF FUNDS. THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE CONDUCT FOR A GEN.CONTRACTOR.Desired Settlement: PAY THE OUTSTANDING OVERDUE INVOICE THAT'S OWED.
