Carpet Care Systems

Review: Carpet Care Systems and their employee came to clean our living room and dining room carpets on October 02, 2015. They were able to clean all dirty areas. However, as the carpets dried there were yellow/brown streaks that were left on the carpet that were not previously there before. We have had this company clean our carpets previously and this did not happen before.

We notified the company as soon as we noticed them and they quickly came to look at them. Upon seeing how bad they looked they asked if they could clean them again, to which we agreed. The owner apologized and said if he couldn't get them clean he would make it right, even taking out an insurance claim if needed. The carpets dried and the discoloration was still noticeable. They came back another two times in attemp to use different products to try and make it better. At one point the owner the owner thought that he might have used to hot of water to clean the carpet.

After cleaning the carpets a total of 4 times in a week without getting the yelliow brown marks completely out, we told him we needed to move forward and replace the carpets. I called him and he told me he would take care of it without going through insurance. However, when giving him a quote he wasn't happy with it and requested we only go through one carpet store in town. When he came back to us with the cost he wanted us to pay for a portion.

At that point we were shocked with the lack of integrity of this man and felt like he was trying to put a value on our carpet without really knowing the value. We were also told that his insurance would not pay for damages because they don't cover his quality of work.

We called a restoration company to see if they could help us. They told us that they could take a sample of our carpet and pad and send it to an independent lab that tests both and can tell the quality and value the existing carpet. The value came back at just around $2500 to replace the carpet, pad and includes installation. Because the values came back that high we knew he would fight it and have sought legal counsel. Response to a letter asking for payment and attorney fees came back as he would only spend $700 total.

We have a large family and our living and eating areas have been disrupted for over a month because the owner feels that he has the right to place a value on our carpet that is lower than what it's worth.

We would really like him to be a business man of integrity and make this right so our home can be put back in order and that our family can again entertain and have friends over. After all he is the one that damaged it.Desired Settlement: We have a quote for replacement and labor @ $2343.56
