Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have asked the school numerous times for a copy of my high school diploma, I go to [redacted] and without this verification has cost me financial aid and not being able to continue school until I have it. I need to be compensated of paying out of pocket for my classes and I need the diploma sent to my current school so I can continue

Dear [redacted]:

Upon
receipt of Complaint # [redacted] from [redacted], a former Dental Assistant student at UEI College-San
Marcos, an investigation was initiated to determine the merit of the complaint.
I contacted Ms. [redacted] via telephone on March 25, 2015 and
discussed the issues which prompted the original complaint and to reach a
resolution.
Facts
uncovered during the investigation include the following:
During her enrollment in the Dental
Assistant program at UEI College-San Marcos, the campus was approved by
Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET) through
April 15, 2012. Currently UEI College-San Marcos is approved
through Dental Board of California for Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).UEI College-San Marcos is approved by ACCET
through April 15, 2017. Based on
the information uncovered during our internal investigation, the institution is
able to arrange a time for Ms. [redacted] to take the Pit and Fissure Sealant
course at UEI College-San Marcos.  To this end, the school:
Scheduled

CASE ID: [redacted] Thank you for giving us an opportunity to respond to complaint #[redacted] from [redacted], from Revdex.com of San Diego, Orange and Imperial counties. This letter is in response to the consumer complaint the Revdex.com received from: [redacted], a Medical...

Billing and Insurance Coding (MBIC) student at the Gardena Campus of UEI College. Upon receipt of the complaint, an information gathering process was conducted to review the issues and determine the merits and facts of the complaints. [redacted] graduated from UEI College and is being denied her diploma because she has not paid her student loans. [redacted]’s diploma is being held due to her defaulting on her loan with Universal Guardian in the amount of $12,512.00. According to the Enrollment Agreement listed under “General Terms,” #9. “The Diploma will be issued after the completion of the entire program and all tuition and fees are paid in full.”  This enrollment agreement was electronically signed by [redacted] on 10/13/2014. However, withholding the diploma has never been issue when placing our grads, as we have made available to the employer, a copy of the diploma, (per the request of the student.) Student did not receive the proper classroom training. There were 21 students in [redacted]’s class.  The GPA in the class ranged from 3.13%-4.0%.  Of the 21 students that were in her class, 16 completed and graduated, giving the class a 76.19% completion rate. The 5 students that did not complete were dismissed for either having academic challenges or high absenteeism.  Student can’t get help from the Career Services Department to find a job. Noted in the Enrollment Agreement listed under “General Terms,” #2. “Placement assistance will be provided. However, no school can ethically promise or guarantee employment to any student or graduate”. We do provide placement assistance to our graduates. Of the 16 students who graduated from [redacted]’s class, 13 of them were placed, giving the class an 81.25% placement rate; 9 of the graduates were placed on externship resulting in a 56.25% externship to hire ratio.     [redacted] was first placed at an extern to hire site called Napa Center, she started there in June of 2015.  After a couple of weeks, Nicole Kelly received a call from the Napa Center, informing her that [redacted] was going to be released from the site because of her performance in general billing and office skills. We immediately scheduled a meeting with [redacted] on 6/22/15 at 10:30 to discuss finding another extern site.  [redacted] texted us saying she would be there at 11:30, by 11:50, she had not yet arrived. We found out later that [redacted] was in Victorville the day of her appointment and could not keep her appointment with career services as she had previously agreed to.  For her second extern site, [redacted] requested a dental pediatric office to do billing.  A couple days later, [redacted] was placed at another extern to hire site called, [redacted] (on 6/24/15). And with only 9 hours left before completing, [redacted] was released from her site, [redacted], due to her unfriendly attitude towards others.     A third extern site, [redacted] Orthopedic Medical Group (not extern to hire) was given to [redacted] so she could complete her remaining hours, which she did, at the end of July.    On August 25, 2015, [redacted] was sent on a “work” interview with Dr. [redacted], from [redacted].  We called and spoke with the employer to find out how [redacted] was doing, he said “she needs to pick up the pace because she works very slowly.”  But said he would give her a chance until the end of the day and possibly another chance tomorrow.   Dr. [redacted] ended up hiring [redacted] that day as a biller, 2 days a week, 4 hours a day. A few weeks later 9/16/15, we contacted [redacted] to let her know that Dr. [redacted] wanted her to give her more hours and work every day, with one day having to work in the Van Nuys office. [redacted] responded to this by stating: “not when they go to the Van Nuys office because it’s too far”.  Shortly thereafter [redacted] stopped working for Dr. [redacted], at some point during her employment she never returned to work.    Our Career Services Department will reach out to [redacted] to get her back in the office for additional support, guidance and assistance with finding employment.  At UEI, we are always here for our students and graduates and our goal is to see them obtain their dream of working in the field that they have been trained for.  We are more than willing to work with Christine [redacted] and she may contact the Campus Executive Director at the Gardena campus at (424) 246-[redacted].   Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter, please contact us anytime if you have questions or need further assistance
