Carpeteria Reviews (2)

May 19, 2013 we purchased [redacted] laminate flooring from Carpeteria, salesperson was John. Invoice [redacted]. They said installer would pick up flooring and would install flooring. Now they said they did not install and will not cover the defect that has occurred but would contact Alex who did the installation. We were never told that the warranty would not be valid if they did not install, they set all of this up we did not have to contact an installer. It has been a week today and after calling them back today they said they don't know why Alex has not called me but would contact him again.Product_Or_Service: [redacted]Order_Number: Invoice [redacted]Desired SettlementWe would like the flooring repaired. It it coming up along sliding door.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: 775-851-4131Contact Email: [redacted]the customer bought laminated flooring from Carpeteria on May 25,2013, over two years ago. We did not install nor was Carpeteria paid for the installation. We understand , it was a sliding door that got caused the flooring to get wet. Only out of courtesy at our own cost , we repaired the flooring on January 13, 2016.

Product is defective and was requested to be replaced. 3 months later no resolution and continuous double talking by the owner.Problem Date: June 2014Purchase Date: April 2014Item#:[redacted]Sales Rep: [redacted]Payment Amount:$4,600Payment Method: Check & Cash14 July 14 Expressed my issues and concerns with Management/Company not taking care of their issues per their guarantee policy and what was said at the purchase of product. We've made several calls complaining about the floor seperating in one area (now it's gotten worse). [redacted] looked at his records and seen there was a claim put in and that he was going to contact them(??) and get back to me tomorrow. 21 July 14 Stated that the same material was re-orderd and that they will be coming to replace all flooring that was installed. They will also be moving furniture around as well.8 Aug 14 Said he still hasn't heard anything from the manufacturer and we called them on three way, he left a message. [redacted] stated that if he will give the manufacturer until Tuesday to respond. I stated if we do not hear anything back from him on Tuesday, we wanted all monies refunded.13 Aug 14 [redacted] stated to [redacted] that at this point, we no longer want the material. We wanted full refund. [redacted] stated that he is trying to work something out with his insurance company to get the monies for install b/c the initial installer "[redacted]" no longer works with them and took all monies for the install, therefore he doesn't have the money at this time to replace the material.19 Aug 14 The owner [redacted] told me that he was trying to work out a way to recover the money for installation cost, He stated that [redacted] no longer worked for capeteria and therefore had no way of recooping the money.21 Aug 14 [redacted] stated that he was just made aware of the situation and he was going to submit a claim to the distribution company for refund. I [redacted] informed him that the original word from the salesman at Capeteria was that he ([redacted]) was working on a refund or replacement from the manufacturer. [redacted] stated that he should not take the hit for the bad product and that he wasn't going to take the hit for the refund of the install, because [redacted] is and was not his installer but he was an employee of Carpeteria and he no longer works there. [redacted] stated that he was going out to the property with his installer to assess the issue on 22 Aug 14 @ 1500. I asked who and where was this installer when the floors were originally installed and [redacted] told me he is on the pay roll but not an employee and does work for him from time to time on laminate and tile installations. The issue that has not been adressed is the salesman who set the whole transaction in place is [redacted] whom is responsible for selling an inferior product claiming the best in the store and then setting us up with [redacted] as the installer from the beginning. [redacted] is also the same person who gave us the payment price and options. Desired Settlement$2,450 for Material$1,750 for Installer$4,200 Total Refund RequestedBusiness Response Per attached copy of invoice [redacted], the consumer only paid for material. Also the invoice says [redacted], not [redacted]. We did not install the product. The customer made a arrangement with [redacted] directly and paid him. The customer did not contract with us for labor. If he had paid us it would have been on the invoice. [redacted] did this outside of his job, on his time. At the time we said out of courtesy we would repair out of our own pocket. [redacted] and [redacted] went out on our own expense and made several repairs and told the customer it would only take a few minutes to repair the rest. The customer said they the wanted money back including the installation which was not paid to Carpeteria. Once again we are not responsible for nor were paid for the installation. We have signs posted in our store stating that outside installations( paid directly to installers and not to us) are not the responsibility of the store. Please see attached sign. Please note the merchant was only paid $2450.00. As a courtesy we would make the repair. The customer request a full refund for the material and installation amount. It is not acceptable with the merchant. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Clearly this company Carpeteria is fraud and well versed at playing a shell game. First off the invoice was not originally written [redacted]' name it was written to reflect the purchaser and person paying for the product and service [redacted]. [redacted] was the sale person and the same individual whom setup the order and the person whom set up the installation with [redacted] whom at the time of purchase and install worked for Carperteria. [redacted] never informed any of us that [redacted] was working independent of Carpeteria and the fact that I met **. [redacted] in the store to discuss installation, why on earth would anybody question wether not he is or was a certified installer for Carpeteria or not an installer. This was all arranged and put together by the salesman [redacted]. The response states that their were repairs done, this is also false as this company has an issue with sticking to facts, what was done at the property by [redacted] and [redacted] is gtive excuses of why I should settle for what I have and kick a few boards and state ([redacted])"It's not all that bad, all you have to do is slide these aroudnd with your foot".As I was informed by [redacted] isn't an employee of Carpeteria either he just pays him for install on projects from time to time so why would [redacted] bring another not employee to inspect what a different not employee did on an install. Carpeteria apparently does not employ installers so when there is a problem you can only hold them accountable for material and never installation. This is entrapment, and [redacted] is obviously comfortable with running a business on excuses aand fact shifting (lying) to their customers(victims). I do not appreciate this back and forth over somehtig that could have and should have been adressed months ago as a paying customer who should not have to fight with a company over facts and lies and defective materials and installers. I did not know who **. [redacted] was until he was referred to us by our salesman [redacted]. The worst of it all I have imperfect floors still and a bunch excuses. [redacted] doesn't feel he's responsible for **. [redacted] whom was a employee of Carpeteria at the time of purchase and [redacted] should be held responsible for trying to cover the truths so much. The request for full refund that includes material and installation is still the resolution we're looking for. We paid in full we want our refund in full.Final Consumer Response I agree with the resolution of repairing the floors at no additional cost to me, and I am requesting that the Carpeteria would gaurantee repairs within 30 days of notice from the Revdex.com in writing.Final Business Response Carpeteria will contact the customer within the next few days and schedule a service within the next 30 days .
