Without going into great scientific detail, a damaged windshield with cracks/chips can develop larger cracks just from the weather (change in temperature, etc) It does not matter where the vehicle is, small cracks develop into larger cracks plain and simple Again, this was a damaged windshield before repairs began If the customer would have done the required maintenance before the accident, she would still have a good windshield after the accident There is nothing we can say that will satisfy this customer This customer was denied a new windshield by the insurance company and now wants us to pay for it It was the customer's responsibility before the accident and it is still the customer's responsibility after the accident

1st issue - completion dateWe always tell customers an APPROXIMATE completion day "if all things go according to plan"There are circumstances beyond our control such as parts availability, delivery and quality of parts deliveredAny delay in these will cause a delay in paint scheduleThere were parts issues with this carFurthermore, we ALWAYS tell customers we will call them when car is doneThis customer chose to show up before receiving that phone call and expected the car to be completeWe tried to accommodate her but it was impossible to doAs a side note, we never give an exact time of day when a car will be complete
2nd issue - windshieldThis car came in with quarter-sized stone chips, which were documented by the insurance companyThe insurance company deemed it old damage and not part of accidentThe insurance company specifically pointed this out to us before repairs beganThis customer also got a copy of the estimate before repairs began and saw the windshield was not on estimateThis is an issue between customer and insurance companyThe windshield is a maintenance issue customer is responsible forThis customer also had other critical maintenance issues that they neglected to take care of prior to accidentThe insurance company pays for accident-related damages onlyThe customer is responsible to pay to repair maintenance items, but chose not to have them doneUnfortunately, this is commonly seen with customers - they expect non-accident damage/issues to be repaired free of charge

I do not accept their response because, I understand that I have two stone chips in my windshield my compliant is not about that. It is about the three cracks in my windshield that I discovered and pointed out to the...

company when I picked my car up. Those crackers were not there nor was caused by the accident. My insurance company has pictures of my windshield and there aren't any crackers just the two stone chips. I submitted pictures on my windshield to my insurance company and to the Revdex.com of my windshield as to what it looked like when I picked my car up. Charlies Auto Body shop had my car of almost a month and I would like to know how those crackers got on my windshield because they were not there when I gave them my car. Yes, I do agree that this is a non accident damage and I want them to pay for it to get repaired because this accident happened when my car was in there possession. My car was not brought to them with the cracks in the windshield and that is how I expected to get my car back. The damage to my windshield was done by this company and they need to take responsibility for what happened to my windshield while it was in their possession and fix it!
