to start work. -September 19, Mr. [redacted] paid $7000 deposit to Carrillo's Roofing -September 19-Work began [redacted] Chief Complaints: DEBRIS-Debris is inevitable, especially in windy weather when 2 layers of shingle are being removed. The original roof was old and when removed broke and had a tendency to break into small pieces. This is common for a roofing job. The work site was left clean and free of debris. COLOR- Mr. [redacted] wanted the "exact" color match to a 15-30-year (1st layer) shingle roof that had been beat by the sun and elements, had several repairs, and at least 3 different color shingles on different spots on the roof. Over the years roofing materials have improved and newer shingles are mainly sold in tri-color bundles. Photos were sent to Mr. [redacted] of 2 similar colors "Painted desert" which was used on the Windsor home and "desert sand" which the homeowner said he would have preferred after the roof was installed. Both colors are a close match to each other and the pre-existing roof. Pictures of pre-existing roof attached Sample pictures of both colors attached MATERIAL-This is the first time Mr. [redacted] has mentioned an issue with the material or warranty to Carrillos Roofing until it was read in this complaint. The quote clearly stated that a 30-50 year material will be installed which was installed (copy of original quote attached) The attached quote was accepted by Mr. [redacted] and he paid Carrillo's Roofing the down payment. He arrived in person to the home while work was being done (at 25% completion) He walked the property and took pictures, but never did Mr. [redacted] stop the work. Mr. [redacted] called Carrillo's Roofing and mentioned that he did not like the color, Carrillo's Roofing then offered to remove and replace the section of new roof that had been completed, Mr. [redacted] declined the offer. (I have witness who was on site when the call was in progress). Mr. [redacted] stated in this complaint "I didn't necessarily want the roof completely removed and replaced, however a discount should be made" Carrillo's Roofing offered the follow to Mr. [redacted] but he was intent on a $3000 discount without except. 1)Carrillo's Roofing offered to replace the roof that was almost at 25% completion and re install color of his choice-Mr. [redacted]-declined 2)Carrillo's Roofing offered to repair fence at no additional charge (previously quoted) his response was "You don't understand, that doesn't help me, the neighbor should pay for half of the fence", Mr. [redacted] declined the offer. I felt grateful that Mr. [redacted] did not have us pull the shingles that were laid. So, I offered this because I wanted to keep the customer happy. 3) Mr. [redacted] was offered verbally a $1000 discount and it was declined. I notified Mr. [redacted] letting him know I picked the color that matched the existing color as close as possible. Please take into account I am matching a 15-30 year old roof with several different colors.
