Carrollton Enterprises Reviews (1)
Review: On Monday, January 9, 2014 My car was towed from the [redacted] at their [redacted] Plaza Location. I mistakenly parked in a handicapped space because their was no sign posted identifying it as the others were. The sign was on the ground only and I did not see it because as the previous driver pulled straight through I pulled in. There is no pole with the handicap sticker on it identifying the space as handicapped. As a result my car was towed. I had to pay 175 to get my car back. When I asked the manager at [redacted] where the signs were letting people know their cars would be towed she said they did not have to provide any. She also could not provide me with the company name, address or phone number for the tow truck company. Carrollton Enterprises failed on two accounts to identify the space appropriately as handicap and also to post signs letting customers know of new procedures that would go into effect.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $175. I feel that it was unfair to not identify the spot appropriately as well as not have signs posted letting people know their cars would be towed and where they would be towed to. I also have pictures that show they did not have any signs posted letting customers know their cars would be towed.

This letter is in response to the complaint made to you by one of our [redacted]s at [redacted] Plaza located in [redacted], Maryland.
As you know, the [redacted] was parked in a space that was clearly marked on the pavement with the handicap emblem. We are especially protective of our handicap spaces in all of our shopping centers as we have many persons with disabilities visiting these centers on a daily basis.
I am enclosing copies of the signage, one of which appears at each of the entrances to [redacted] Plaza. We do not feel any obligation to pay for the [redacted]’s towing fee.
If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call at ###-###-####.

I am rejecting this response because: Those space are NOT clearly marked and there are not any signs posted at the [redacted]. I have pictures that show all the entries to the [redacted] that have no signs regarding towing in or around them. The handicapped space I was parked in did not have a pole with the handicapped man on it so when the lady pulled straight through to leave I pulled in. Additionally, the space in front of my space that was NOT clearly identified as handicapped IS NOT a handicap parking space. usually both spaces are, and it was not the case in this parking lot. They are neglectful in identifying the handicap space and also providing appropriate signage for consumers letting them know their cars would be towed and to where. I even went inside to ask the manager of [redacted] no one could give me the name or the address of the towing company. She stated that it was the first day of towing and this was a new company/procedure that they were following.
