I am just trying to figure out who cashed the check and make sure that it doesn't happen to anyone else.  According to Patrick at the credit union the dealership cashed the check.  I don't know for sure who cashed it.  I feel that Cars Direct was trying to sell me a vehicle that was...

not 100% and they knew it.  I believe that they cashed the check, but not sure.  Patrick at the credit union tried to give me a run around at first until he knew that I had followed the proper procedure, so I wonder if him and the Cars Direct folks aren't in it together.   When I said that I wanted the vehicle initially, the owner of the Cars Direct said he had a guy who could get me a loan no problem.  So anyway...if there is nothing that can be done, then that is the way it will be and the next guy will suffer as well.  I have talked to the Attorney General's office who told me there was nothing to investigate and I also initially talked to the Ontario County Sheriffs office as well, but they said that unless we could prove that Cars Direct cashed it then there was nothing they could do because the [redacted] was in Monroe County.   As far as I am concerned both parties are responsible, because I called the day I decided not to buy the truck and asked the Credit Union to cancel the loan or at least put a hold on it.  Apparently that did not happen.
