Cars R Us Reviews (23)

Revdex.com spoke with the business who advised that the vehicle has been repaired and consumer is satisfied.

I have attached a copy of the car fax from the vehicle that Ms [redacted] purchased from us.  The carfax indicates no accident/damage reports and no structural damages to the vehicle.  I am sorry that Ms. [redacted] feels we are not reputable but we did nothing wrong.  We will not be purchasing...

the vehicle back.

Review: I purchased a used 2002 Saturn. After two days of having the car, I noticed SEVERE noises coming from the engine. I brought the car back to Cars R' Us and was told it was the vacuum and Saturn's were known to have this. The car has broken down 4 times. The engine noise is getting louder an louder and VERY hard to drive. [redacted] (owner of Cars r R' Us) REFUSES to fix the motor/engine, even though I had two certified mechanics BOTH diagnosis the car needing work ranging from $790.00 to $1200. The car has a warranty and was not sold "as is." Most mechanics will NOT take the warranty (given by Cars R Us) due to the mechanics have a very hard time receiving payment. I also had the car break down 3 times due to a defective steering. Cars R'Us told me the had the car fixed at their mechanic, yet they REFUSE to give me a mechanics statement or diagnostic statement. They also told me their mechanic does not speak English, so he is not capable of giving a written statement regarding the repairs on the steering. I also gave $300.00 cash to Cars R' Us in July for half of the repair bill for the steering. They also REFUSE to give me a receipt.I believe they fixed the steering themselves with any junk parts they had and pocketed my $300.00 The car would never have broken down for the same problem 4 times if fixed properly by a mechanic. They misrepresented the car. I have brought it back to them for the engine and have called them at least 10 times regarding this issue. I DID NOT wait long. I have brought it back to them 2 days after

purchase and continuously there after for the engine.Desired Settlement: I want the engine/motor repaired by MY certified mechanic, and Cars R' Us to pay up front to my mechanic for the repair. They knowingly sold me a car with a VERY bad engine. Again, I returned the car 2 days after purchase for the engine problem. (total cost approx. $790.00-$1200) If they refuse to have the engine fixed properly, I would want my initial deposit back of $2000 PLUS all my payments of $400/month (total $2000) PLUS the $300 I paid in cash for he steering which NEVER was done by a mechanic as they stated. Total $4300

Response:

Hello my name is [redacted] the owner of Cars R Us. [redacted] came to us two weeks after she took the car with a leak in the rack/pinion. We told her that the job would cost $600. The price of $180 of a used rack and the labor rate of 6 hours at $70 an hour. We told her that we would split the costs 50/50. She paid for $300 and we paid for $300. We gave her a 6 month Proguard Power train warranty, which is a very reputable company. The warranty did not cover rack/pinion so we explained to her that we would both have to pay from our pockets which was agreed. After the installation of the rack, [redacted] called us later that week and told us she drove to the doctors and when she was leaving the car started but when she moved the shifter the car did not move. So my worker and I drove up to Montclair on Bloomfield Ave and found out the clip that holds the shifter cable to the transmission linkage was broke. My worker and I brought some clips with us and resolved the problem. She was very happy that we were able to come and help her. She drove off and had no problem getting to where she had to go. Meanwhile we were having problems getting payments from her. We went to the address on her license and which was signed for by her on all of the contracts to find out that she has not lived there for over a year. About a couple weeks later the same issue happened again. She had the car towed in and we fastened the shifter to the linkage. Once again as soon as their was an issue with the car not moving we were there to help her out. She stated the car broke down 4 times because of the engine. That was a false statement, the car never stopped due to engine issues or severe noise. The car was not able to shift 2 times due to the linkage coming off the shifter cable. The car starts up and drives everyday that she has had it for 4 months and has put over 4000 miles on it. [redacted] talks about bringing the car to different mechanics to check out a noise that she hears in the engine. Every time she takes it to a mechanic no one can give her an answer to the exact noise and what has to be fixed. They tell her it could be alternator, it could be water pump, it could be tensioner pulley, it could be timing belt, they tell her it could be different things but never pin point the problem. So she can find out of the warranty is going to cover it. With warranty companies the part has to break to be fixed. Once again the car starts up everyday and she continues to use it. Has she been servicing the vehicle properly with oil changes and lubrications and check ups? She has lacked the initiative to take it to a good mechanic and get it diagnosed properly so she can put it through the warranty company which has never has told us she has never contacted them or opened a claim. We think that this is a game she is playing so she does not have to pay, if you look at her credit she has done this to multiple people in the past ten years, just check her credit and you will see. We at Cars R Us pride ourselves in buying good reliable used cars. We guarantee satisfaction in our business which has been here for over 25 years. We also offer warranties from the most reputable companies around. The Proguard Warranty Company has never denied a claim to our customers. She has 6 month or 7,500 miles from date of purchase on her warranty contract that covers Powertrain. [redacted] wants all of her money back that she has paid to us even though she has been using the car for over 4 months and put over 4000 miles on it. When she brought the car in we noticed that the car had been keyed and she told us that someone had slashed all of her tires. I wonder why that happened, maybe it is because the way she treats people and lies to them. We are not giving her a penny back. We have helped her out when she needed and will continue to help her at all costs. Like a said before the car never broke down due to any engine problem or noise. If payments are not received every two weeks we will have no alternative to repo the

vechicle. God Bless You All [redacted].
