Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Even with all the information they provided they have admitted my car was not able to be worked on for over 30 days. They forgot to mention I took my car to [redacted] shop and that shop already did hours of diagnostic work and I told Roscoe that I could give them any detail needed from the other shop if they needed it. It makes no sense to go from shop to shop and getting cars diagnosed. This is a project car and will get built in phases. I expressed my goals for the car but the immediate attention should have been the steering and suspension.
Per their OWN agreement, “A written description of work to be completed must be signed prior to work beginning. All work modifications or change orders must be in writing and have customer signature.” At no point in time did I sign for them to do 5 hours of diagnostic work because in the attached documents you can see I paid for another shop to do that. I was under the impression that once we agreed upon what was going to be fixed, then the money I put down would go towards the work. Had Cars Remember When said in order for us to work on steering we need to diagnose the car for 5 hours I would have said no thanks and taken my car else where.Lastly, I paid [redacted], Inc $2,180.59 to fix some of the steering issues and they were wonderful to work with because I told them the issue, they worked on the problem I wanted and didn’t do 5 hours of diagnostic work. I just had to tell them what I wanted done and they completed the work. I was under the belief that they have worked on plenty of cars and could fix a car and all the labor goes towards fixing the car. [redacted] was able to do labor while diagnostng any issues they saw. True professionals.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Response to Complaint from [redacted] From: Cars Remember When, Doug S[redacted] President   On 7/20/2017 [redacted]  ([redacted]) email us stating that he desired to have his engine rebuilt.  (see  attachment 1)  We replied via phone requesting that he bring the corvette in...

for evaluation.  No quote given.   On 7/27/2017 [redacted] brought us his 1980 Corvette for possible repairs.  See video attached.  As per the video, [redacted]. stated he wanted  ‘tight steering, all electrical, small stuff that no other shop can do, tires, brakes, and suspension’.  [redacted]. left us the corvette for evaluation (without prior appointment).  He understood that we were not be able to begin evaluation/repairs for at least 30 days.  Prior to leaving his vehicle [redacted] did sign our standard Terms and Conditions.  (See attachment 2 ) stating time and materials at $120 per hour.   On August 24, 2017  we meet in person with [redacted] to review our diagnostic finding.  The Corvette was lifted so that all discoveries would be clear.   Additional electrical concerns were brought up by [redacted]. and further diagnostics occurred.  (See attachment 3) (Breakdown of diagnostic work and associated labor time)   On October 23rd  we provided [redacted]. with a quote for needed repairs. See attachment 4 ‘1980 Corvette Gusstimate’.    During the next 30 days multiple emails and phone calls were exchanged with no definitive authorization provided.  In fact the scope of work varied from mechanical to only providing new seats.     On 11/24/2017 [redacted]. brought us $960.00 in cash for a deposit on work to be done.  See attached emails.  At this time [redacted].’s bill for diagnostic work completed was $690.    On 12/1/2017 [redacted] meet with our G.M in person.  At this time he was presented with the diagnostic invoice for $690 and asked how he wanted to proceed.   [redacted]. was shocked that there was a charge for diagnostic work and decided to remove his Corvette.  We gave [redacted]. a refund check for $270.00 (the difference between his initial deposit and the diagnostic bill).    [redacted] proceeded to then trash our company name everywhere he could.  He called a local radio talk show ([redacted]) and asked them for an investigation.  We totally cooperated with [redacted] and [redacted] sided in our favor.  This all occurring on public broadcast radio.    In addition [redacted]. wrote very derogatory remarks on our Facebook page that cannot be removed.    [redacted]. also complained to you ,the Revdex.com .
