I just recently bought my third Honda civic and the gentleman that always helped me had moved away so I was hooked up with Terry *** and I was so impressed with his kindness and how helpful he wasHe was so personable and it was a wonderful experience leasing my new car from himI truly love Victory Honda and will always go there for all my new cars

Again: we are very sorry for the customer's frustration and we hope to have the functionality restored shortly And again: we recommend the customer try again to post his adThe consumer has not lost money--he has only been frustrated by a technical glitch Again, we sincerely apologize for thisHowever, we cannot offer any further accommodation to this consumerAccordingly, we ask that you close this matter-Cars.com-

This site is misleading and highly deceptiveRather than providing an Internet quote as the site suggestedthey took my information and peddled it to every applicable dealership within a hundred miles and within minutes my phone was ringing off the hook from salesman trying to lure me to the dealership but I was never given a direct Internet quote and even after several calls from the site, I still don't have a quoteEverything about this experience is just as shady as stepping onto the old slimy Cal *** lotsand seems geared as a marketing tool to car stores to generate quality leads

Cars.com does not and will not hesitate to remove ads that put consumers at risk of deception and criminal loss
Accordingly,
we ask the Revdex.com to dismiss this complaint

Cars.com appreciates the consumer's feedback--however the allegations that Cars.com censors negative reviews are manifestly untrue An inspection of the Cars.com website will reveal hundreds of thousands of negative
reviewsWe will mention that Cars.com is currently experiencing problems with its review platform--causing many reviews to error-out and not be posted We are currently trying to resolve the issue In the meantime, some consumers have had luck by reposting We encourage the consumer to resubmit his review--hopefully there will not be an error with the resubmission We trust this adequately addresses the consumer's complaints and ask that this matter be closed

I am rejecting this response because: Until it is fixed and negative reviews can be left I don't buy the scripted response. The same dealer I was trying to leave a negative review for has nothing below a 4 star yet [redacted], dealer rater and other platform its barely a 3 star business but under your system its a 4.9 with 270 reviews.
Sincerely,
Joshua [redacted]

Inaccurate and deceptive pricing are issues we take very seriously at Cars.com. Our advertisers are prohibited from engaging in such...

conduct. Having said this, all pricing information is provided by the advertisers themselvesCars.com is not involved in the pricing of automobiles in any way. Cars.com is simply an advertising platform permitting dealerships and private party sellers to advertise vehicles at prices they themselves set.
If the complaintant is aware of innaccurate or deceptive pricing we ask that he please contact [redacted]@cars.com and provide the listing information so that we can investigate. If there are issues with the pricing, and the advertiser fails to correct these issues, Cars.com may then pull the advertisement altogether. We look forward to hearing from the complainant.
Because this complaint centers on the conduct of third party advertisers and not Cars.com we ask the Revdex.com please dismiss this matter.
Thank you.

Take your business someplace else!
I managed to get a car off private seller really cheap who had money and dint want to bother listing and selling it. I checked the prices on the internet and I figured even if I list it cheap I still make 2x times what I have paid for it and someone will be still happy to get this car for amount of money I was asking for it. So I listed it on cars.com but the car went on fraud watch ether because someone reported my add or cars.com guys decided to do so. I figured that they just want to be safe than sorry it’s very understandable this days. I called them and explain the situation they asked me to send them pictures or scan of a title I complied toke a photos with my phone and emailed it with it a 2min. Few day had passed no reply so I called them up and ask them to explain what was going on, only to hear that they had reviewed my case but can’t tell me anything why but made business decision not to post my add. That simple the site that advertise them self was made for the people didn’t want to bother but there are plenty of dealership there lie that they private sellers. I sold a car next day to a dealership and still made 2x more than I paid for it. Too bad that this website don’t let regular people save money on purchasing cars and only worry about big guys with paid account to make money. So if you want to save your money and not overpay go look someplace else this site is bogus and plain and simple rip-off.

I have owned a 2017 Lincoln MKC for a week now and love it. I have the reserve model with all the buttons and switches. I am having fun configuring the car to my preferences. Very smooth ride, 20 inch tires, and the sportier 2.3 four cylinder which gives the MKC all the power you need. Too many options to mention. It will take some time to learn all it's features. Would not be afraid to recommend this vehicle to anyone. It is a great luxury SUV.

To Whom It May Concern:
On behalf of [redacted], a division of Classified Ventures, LLC, I am responding to the above-referenced Complainant.
It appears the consumer has been victimized by a wire-transfer scam and should contact law...

enforcement IMMEDIATELY to report the loss of funds. Despite any claims or appearances to the contrary, [redacted] was not involved in this transaction in any form.
Please note that [redacted] simply provides a classified listing service. [redacted] never participates in transactions between buyers and sellers. [redacted] never sends any invoices for vehicles, nor does it collect payments for vehicles, provide mediation services, warehouse vehicles, or ship vehicles. Any emails which appear to have stated otherwise are fraudulent and were sent to the consumer by the criminal who perpetrated this scam.
We at [redacted] are sympathetic to the consumer's situation and recognize the desire to hold someone responsible for this crime. However, [redacted] cannot be responsible for the criminal actions of third parties. Therefore we are unable to issue a refund to the customer.
[redacted] stands ready to cooperate with law enforcement in any investigation of this crime. We urge the consumer to have his local law enforcement agency contact us immediately and also to file a complaint against the seller of the vehicle, through the Internet Crime Complaint Center at http://www.ic3.gov/crimeschemes.aspx.
Due to the criminal nature of this matter, law enforcement should be involved and therefore, it is no longer appropriate for the Revdex.com to be involved in this matter. Therefore, we ask that the Revdex.com close this complaint immediately.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/03/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I contacted my local law enforcement agency days after I was scammed. They directed me to contact cars.com, Revdex.com, and the FTC, which I did. [redacted] wants to exclude themselves from all scams and hide behind their disclaimer, but I know I am not the first or last person that has been victimized by this crime. And what has cars.com done to prevent it from happening? They continue to provide a breeding ground for scammers to anonymously post false ads and sucker people in to lose their money. And then they deny any culpability and say there's nothing they can do about it. That's a terrible way of doing business and protecting your customers, in particular when they run national ads where their slogan is "All drive. No drama." I kick myself for using using cars.com. I bought my previous car off autotrader.com and was thoroughly satisfied with their service. I just recently bought a car off [redacted] and came away with a great vehicle. Both of those businesses had disclaimers that were more prominent and helpful when I came across their website. I just wish I looked at one of those websites first before I looked at cars.com. Then I wouldn't have had the terrible experience that I had with cars.com. And for them to totally deny any responsibility for not monitoring and eliminating these fraudulent predators from invading their business is both disappointing and irresponsible. Once again, law enforcement directed me to contact the Revdex.com and cars.com, and cars.com is passing the burden back onto law enforcement. Terrible way of doing business, which is why it is necessary for the Revdex.com to be involved so that other people will not be deceived like I was

Re:[redacted], Case #:[redacted]
To Whom it May Concern:
As previously stated, it appears the consumer has been victimized by a wire-transfer scam.
Despite any claims to the contrary, [redacted] was not involved in this transaction in any form.
[redacted] simply provides a classified listing service. [redacted] never participates in transactions between buyers and sellers.
Despite the consumers allegations to the contrary, [redacted] goes to great lengths to protect consumers from fraud. In particular:
A fraud warning is prominently displayed on every ad from a private party. The warning says: "Tip: Never send money overseas without personally inspecting the car first."
We have provided a comprehensive summary of fraud tips for buyers and sellers called "Protecting Yourself Against Internet Fraud: A Common-Sense Guide", which can be found at http://siy.cars.com/siy/fraudTips.jsp.
We post regularly updated information regarding various scams to our "SAFE" blog that exposes current fraud schemes (http://blogs.cars.com/safe/). As mentioned in the complaint, [redacted] had posted a warning to our users showing the information related to this particular scam.
Most notably, though:
[redacted] provides buyers with a confirmation email that warns them about fraud minutes after they send a lead with respect to a particular vehicle. The confirmation email specifically says the following:
[redacted] Special Notice About Internet Fraud [redacted]
Don't become a statistic! Read and follow these simple tips.
1. NEVER wire money via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. to purchase a car from someone overseas. You will most likely lose all your money.
2. If a car is priced far below market value, it likely has a salvage title (meaning it was declared a total loss at some point) or is a fraud designed to lure bargain hunters.
3. [redacted] does NOT participate in the transaction in any way. We do not collect deposits or payments, warehouse any vehicles, or verify the identity of any seller. If you see an e-mail purporting to involve cars.com, please DO NOT RESPOND TO THE MESSAGE. Instead, please forward to [redacted]
Even though the vast majority of listings are legitimate, there is no substitute for healthy skepticism. Don't let your guard down for a deal that sounds too good to be true, because it probably is.

In the case at hand, the consumer ignored or disregarded the warning email as well as other anti-fraud information we provide. Instead of taking these warnings into consideration, the consumer wired money to the seller without meeting him personally and without personally inspecting the vehicle.
We at [redacted] are sympathetic to the consumer's situation and recognize the desire to hold someone responsible for this crime. However, [redacted] cannot be responsible for the criminal actions of third parties. Therefore we are unable to issue a refund to the customer.
This is our final position.
Finally, we must stress again that due to the criminal nature of this matter, we feel the Revdex.com's involvement is inappropriate. By directing time and attention away from a criminal investigation, the Revdex.com's continued involvement may actually harm the ability of law enforcement to investigate this crime. To this point, we note the consumer states he contacted his "local law enforcement agency," but to date we have not been contacted by investigators looking into this crime. So again, we urge the consumer to contact the police as soon as possible and we ask the Revdex.com to close this matter.

Cars.com apologizes for the inconvenience to the consumer but we have been experiencing some technical difficulties.  We ask the consumer to be patient while we upgrade our systems and try again shortly.
Given the nature of the problem and the fact the consumer has not experienced any...

financial loss, we ask the Revdex.com to close this matter.Regards,
Cars.com
