I am rejecting this response because:I was not part of the conversation that KleenAir had with my contractor, and how KleenAir perceived what I was looking for from someone other than my wife or me is on them. What I do know is that I had spoken to my contractor on the 22nd of June about the fact that I had an AC guy come out and look at my AC Unit and was told my compressor was bad. Because of the money involved to replace a compressor, I told my contractor I needed a second opinion, and asked him if he knew a reputable AC company He said he would call KleenAir I address him again on July 1st because I had not heard from KleenAir. My contractor was not only aware that my AC had been out for a while; he knew I was looking for a second opinion The fact that KleenAir is claiming, in their rebuttal of my complaint, that I only brought up the other AC Company and wanting a second opinion after I refuted their Fee, is a BOLD-FACE LIE I knew my contractor had spoken to KleenAir (at least once, maybe twice), and because this was a company he was comfortable with, I had to presume he had explained my situation to them. So, with that said, I was very clear in our original conversation about needing a second opinion on my AC Unit because I was told my compressor was bad by another company. Having not known what my contractor had told KleenAir, had I not been up front with them, I could have been caught in a lie, like the one they told in their rebuttal. The truth is in our originalconversation, had they told me there was a fee for them to come out, I would have never asked them to come out. A fee was never, ever brought up. I was never asked to sign anything to acknowledge I would be charged a fee. They also state that their technician told “me” she would get me a price on a new compressor and that I said I wanted them to send me a price by email. THAT IS ALSO A LIEI was never at my house when their tech was there, so I couldn’t have had a conversation with herMy wife was thereI did ask them to email me the quote the day after the tech visit when, they called to say it was, in fact, my compressor. It was during the last few seconds of that phone conversation, that they tried to get a CC # from me to pay for a service they advertise for free on their website. I did tell them I didn’t have a credit card and I did tell them I would have my wife call them I said that because I was not sure if my wife had agreed to something that I was not aware of So I called my wife right after I got off the phone with KleenAir and asked my wife if she hadagreed to pay a FEE, because they were trying to collect one and she was just as shocked as I was. My wife said their technician specifically said there was NO CHARGE for her visit. Their technician didn’t give my wife any paperwork explaining what service she had done or ask my wife to sign any documentation what-so-ever. In fact, neither one of us has signed any documentation that explains any service they have provided for us and/or any fees we are obligated to pay

A lot of what was stated in his response is not true
Unfortunately most of them would boil down to a “he said, she said” situation,
which we do not want to get involved inThere are, however, a few points we
would like to make to refute what he has stated as facts:
Diagnostic
calls are to determine what is wrong with the systemInspections do not
He wanted to know what was wrong with the system and how much it would be
for repairsSecond opinions are diagnostic calls when we are determining
what went wrong with the systemIf you go to a doctor and get a diagnosis
of what is wrong, you then have the option of going to another doctor to
get a second opinionHe will charge you to check you over and give his
opinion of what is wrong with youInspections are only for gathering
model numbers etc… so that we can replace a system “like for like” or to
see if the system requires cleaning or maintenance
If the
customer didn’t think he owed anything for the “second opinion” he would
not have told us that he “would have my wife call them” or told us “I
didn’t have a credit card”If he really didn’t think he owed us anything,
he would have immediately asked why he was being charged and that he
doesn’t owe us anything, just like he is stating nowFor example, if
someone tries to charge you for something that you were told was free, you
wouldn’t say anything about not having your credit card, you would object
by saying something like “You told me it was free! I don’t owe you for
anything.” If he really felt it was a free second opinion, he never would
have said what he did
He
stated he called his wife “right after I got off the phone with Kleen Air”
and she was “shocked” that we were trying to collect the feeIf that is
true, why did it take him until later that same week to tell us he wasn’t
going to pay? For example, if a company was trying to charge you for a
service they said told you was free, and you confirmed that your spouse
didn’t agree to any charges, you would call the company back immediately
to refute the charge, not wait until later that week
The statements he has made are not matching up with what he
actually didHe would not have done the things he did, or said the things he
said if what he stated in his complaint was actually trueWe should be
compensated for our workIf you have any questions, please call us at

We got a call on July 2ndfrom another contractor we do a lot of work with, stating that he was callingin a favor for a service call as soon as possible for Mr**His system was not working, andit was over degrees outsideAs a favor, we squeezed his call in just afterthe holiday weekend on
July 6th even though we were booked out for weeksWeimmediately called Mr** at 2:30pm to scheduleHe did not answer, so we lefta messageHe returned our call later that same day to scheduleHe stated thathis air conditioning was not workingWe put him on our schedule for service onMonday July, 6th between 12-2pmUpon our arrival, our techniciandiagnosed that the unit had a bad compressorOur technician stated she wouldget him a price on a new compressorHe stated that he wanted us to send ourprice by emailWe called Mr** before sending the quote for a new compressoras a courtesyHe stated that he would also like a price to replace thecondenser, which we also providedAt the end of that phone conversation, weasked to collect the diagnostic service fee of $He replied that he didn’thave his credit card with him and that he would have his wife call it in to ourofficeLater that same week, he called us and said he would not pay thediagnostic fee, because he claims that he asked for a second opinionHe thentold us that we were the second company out there and that they alreadycondemned his compressorWe explained that we do not give free diagnosticservice calls, because we have to pay our service technician to go outWe gavethe example that if he were to bring a broken car to a dealership for service, the dealership would charge a diagnostic fee to find the problemHe arguedthat it says on our website that we give free service callsOur websiteactually states: “… take advantage of our free inspection to see if your systemrequires maintenance, cleaning, or even upgrading….” It says nothing about freediagnostics or free second opinions on service callsHe stated that he stillwould not pay and if we pursued the matter, he would report us to the Revdex.com andhe would contact the contractor that referred us and tell them what he thought ofour company and his referral of itIn the end, we provided great service and areasonable price, and we should be compensated for our workIf you have anquestions or concerns, please call us at###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because: First of all, as I mentioned in my complaint that Mr *** did not answer my calls as I asked the telefoon operator and the service man to have him call meI did not get a call from Mr*** therefor my complaint to Revdex.comHe said that he was on vacation, however I doudbt the duration of his vacation He states that they answered several calls last year, which they did serve and did many adjustments as stated in my original complaintAll those adjustments did not make reasonable improvementMr*** called me to come over and look at the problem once more. This was at the last hot spell and I was on the way to Monterey during the time to escape the heatWe agreed that we should wait for the next hot spell to see what the system doesThat's the last communication had with him. I disagree with all the claims of the manufactured houseFirst of all my home is no different from the neighbors aroundNone of them have a problem!!! If Mr *** claims the so called poor condition of the house, then its his problem as a professional to bid on the projectIn other words I,m the only house of ones in the park is so bad that's a very poor excuse for him to useAs the contract says, I paid $for the contract and it is time that Kleen Air fixes their problem!!!!

I am rejecting this response because: I made it clear to *** that I had mold in my homeI told him how it happened and my concern that there was something wrong in the air systemWhy would I allow a process that could cause more contamination in my home, I wouldn't*** made it clear that the air would be contained because he was tbd person who stated there was mold in the main air return and showed it to meHe stated that contaminated would be removed in a manner that would not cause further contamination to my home by again containing the area and using a system that would eliminate the problem by removing the items in a safe mannerKleen Air are the so-called experts and should know how to remove mold in a safe way using mold remediation protocols that are recognized by mold expertsThis includes containing the air by putting up a protective barrier and using negative air pressure and air scrubbers, as well as, removing the contaminated materials in a safe mannerFrom the beginning this was about proper removal of contaminated materials and relying on the so-called experts to provide me with the best solution to the problemThe best solution was to first, replace all 38-year old ducts because one, their age, and two, because the duct system had mold and a ducts had been exposed to moldI have not changed anything, because I maintain that *** did not do a thorough inspection, did not offer me the best and safe method which was to contain the area where mold was located and 'recommend replacementIt was only after the cleaning of the ducts that I was told the other ducts where invested with mold and should be replacedKleen Air offered to replace more ducts in my home for an additional $2,when the right ethical business practice should have been to replace the ducts and not to waste my money on cleaning year-old ducts that had been exposed to moldAgain , as the experts in the duct business for years, Kleen Air had a obligation to provide the customer with best options, both financially and safelyI have not changed my position which has always been that Kleen Air misrepresnted themselves, experts in duct work, and their methods of removal of contaminated materialsPutting Dowwn an old drop cloth is not considered proper removal of mold I'm sure the accreditation KleeneAir keeps mentioning would not find their methods of removing contaminate materialIsts and Kleen Air' s assessment of my mold problems based on a visual inspection would not be acceptableAn air test is the method used to identify the mold present and the countAlso, as someone e is very sensitive to mold it doesn't matter how much is present where you're sensitive to one spore can present many physical symptoms that are not good for the individual exposed to moldAgain, I made it clear to *** and Jeff how long I had been exposed to mold, the negative physical affects and my main reason for hiring Kleen Air was to prevent further exposure from whatever was in my ducts which both *** and Jeff diagnosed as having mold in my ductsThey did not prevent me, my pet of my home from further exposure to mold and again as so-called experts their where obligated to do and that is why I deserve a full refundThey were informed of the situation of my home, do an inspection and found mold and should have done the job in a safe manner and protecting the customer from further exposure to mold and provide sound fiscal options so the customer does not end up paying for work that did not need to done nor did it fix my problem which is mold in my ducts

This complaint was completely unnecessary. All Mr. [redacted]
needed to do was call us. He has contacted us a dozen times since March 2014,
and we have addressed his issues every time. We already know his problem and we
are making every effort to fix it. Unfortunately, it is a very tough...

problem.
Essentially, the problem is that his mobile home is extremely drafty and
poorly insulated. Trying to cool his house is almost like trying to cool you
car with the A/C, except the windows are down. The temperature of the air
blowing out of the vents is 55 degrees!! All the cold air escapes so quickly,
it hardly has time to cool anything inside. We installed the new equipment
before he moved into that house, so we have no idea how bad it was before or
how much it has improved. We have reached out to Mr. [redacted] and we are
working together to resolve this issue as best we can. If you have any
questions, please call us at [redacted].

Here is the work order you requested. If you have any questions or need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to call us at [redacted]. Thank you.

I am rejecting thingies toresponse because: Kleenex Air was informed that my home has mold. [redacted] inspected the main duct and informed me there was mold in the main duct. [redacted] stated all removal would be done to contain the mold exposure in the home by using a Hepa vac and under containing mold by industry standards including negative pressure removing ccontaminate d materialsmaterialists by placing protective barriers. Kleen airs solution was to put a dirty drop cloth on my hallway floor even though I was informed the area would be sealed off as we're the other bedrooms in my home already remediate d therefor mold. The plastic containment was viable to [redacted] and I made sure he knee all about the mold.  When I mentioned I would be getting another estimate from [redacted] stated they used to do [redacted] duct cleaning but the individual who now does the work does not have a truck such as the one used by Kleenex Air and stated [redacted] would bring in a Hepa vac to do the work, which Kleen Air did themselves. There was no extras attention to assure all work would be up and out of the home. A dirty drop cloth and cardboard pieces placed over the ducts is not industry standards by anyone's definition. Kleen Air did not take necessary precautions to ensure that my home was protected by main duct with mold nor in general since I told [redacted] specifically my problems with mold. Kleen Air wants make this issue about smells in my home which although the main issue became secondary once [redacted] informed me about the mold in the main duct.

We have contacted Mr. Heneweer. We are currently attempting to resolve his issues. We have sent out our technicians as well as [redacted] to see what else can be done. We came up with some solutions and made some adjustments. The system showed improvement, but we are not done yet. We hope to have this situation resolved soon.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:Why are they sending this…I didn’t "request" this.  I already have a copy of this document because
it was emailed to me TWO DAYS “after” their rep came to my house on Monday July
6th.  This paperwork was not given to my
wife, when their rep was at my house, as I have already stated.  Nothing was ever stated verbally or in
writing to me, or my wife, prior to the inspection being performed, that
explained there was going to be a ”fee” for the inspection, which they advertise
as being free on their website.  When
their tech showed up at  my house, she
could have very well explained to my wife that there was going to be a fee for her
to look at my AC unit and she could have had my wife sign their so called “work
Order” acknowledging the fee .  This didn’t
happen.  When their tech left my house,
she could have very well had my wife sign their so called “work Order” stating
what the tech did and what the fee was going to be.  This didn’t happen either.  In fact, their tech, as I have stated before,
told my wife there was no fee for her visit and that is why the tech didn’t
have my wife sign any document.  This is precisely
why Kleen Air cannot produce one document with my wife’s signature on it or my
signature for that matter…especially any documents stating that we were aware
that there was going to be a fee for something they advertise as free.  This so called document they are now
producing was emailed to me on the 8th of July, 2 days after their
tech visited my house and, again, there is no signature on this piece of paper
acknowledging that my wife and I were aware of any fee we were going to be
charged.  I wasn’t even aware this
document even existed until two days after the inspection.

We wanted to take this opportunity to respond to the allegations brought forth by Jack [redacted]. We looked over his statement of the problem and found some inaccuracies that we wanted to bring to light. We were hired by Mr. [redacted]’s home warranty company to replace the rooftop heating and air conditioning...

unit. All our prices that were to be paid by the home warranty company or the homeowner (Mr. [redacted]) were stated and agreed upon BEFORE any work was performed. The home warranty company will not authorize any work unless the charges that are not covered by the warranty are given to and agreed upon by the homeowner. The sheet metal work was not added on later, but was presented to and agreed upon by Mr. [redacted] BEFORE we started the install. The electrician was not needed at [redacted], but at the other half of the duplex at [redacted], which is not under dispute and was not installed by us. We did not touch the unit or the breaker panel for [redacted] while doing the install at [redacted]. There would be no need to touch anything at [redacted], because it is not connected in any way to our install at [redacted].The install we did was inspected by Sacramento County Building Inspection. Status on Permit # [redacted] is “Completed.” We have shown this to Mr. [redacted] and he still refuses to accept it. We will send a copy of the completed permit to the Revdex.com as proof. The water leak is not due to our install but is the result of an improper install done by another company BEFORE we did any work there. We did our install in December of 2015, but we have a record of the roof leaking in September of 2015. The home warranty company sent us there with Service Request # [redacted] to check on a water leak. Our technician found that the water leak was due to an improper install. It was not created by the install we did 3 months later. We do not owe anything to Mr. [redacted] for the roof repair because it was not caused by Kleen Air.The total for the install that was not covered by the warranty company is $660. That total breaks down to $435 for the title 24 testing, $115 for the part of the permit that was not covered under Mr. [redacted]’s policy with the warranty company, and $110 for the sheet metal work. To date, Mr. [redacted] has not paid any part of $660 he owes our company. When we contact him to collect, he refuses to pay anything at all. We had no choice but to put a lien on the property to protect our company from Mr. [redacted] not paying us what he owes. The amount he owes is about 2 months overdue and it seems evident that Mr. [redacted] has no intention of paying what he owes our company, no matter what we do.

To Whom It May Concern,   There are a few issues in [redacted]'s complaint that need to be addressed. They are as follows:   1. [redacted] wants a full refund. Kleen Air did the work stated on the invoice and should receive the agreed upon price.   2. Kleen Air gave no guarantee that the...

mold would be completely eliminated. Kleen Air cleaned the system to NADCA standards and replaced the contaminated return duct.   3. Kleen Air gave no guarantee of air quality or completely removing the odor [redacted] was smelling. Although the cleaning would have certainly helped reduce the odor and increase the air quality, it was not guaranteed.   4. Inspection by [redacted] of Kleen Air was done to NADCA industry standards:       I. NADCA standards do not require a full inspection of the entire system.       II. [redacted] was not allowed into the rooms that contained the 4 ducts that were eventually recommended to be replaced. Even if [redacted] did get to see that ductwork, he would not have seen the mold stains under the dirt. And even if he did see the mold stains, he would see that the dirt above the mold stains was not wet or moldy and therefore not an active contaminant. The only reason Kleen Air recommended replacement is because [redacted] stated that there was a leak in the roof. The actual duct that needed to be replaced due to mold and exposed insulation is the return duct, which was replaced.       III. [redacted] stated that the dirt inside the ductwork would be removed up and out of the home by very powerful suction provided by a Power Vacuum truck outside that would be attached to the unit on the roof. Any dirt that came loose in the ductwork would immediately be sucked out and contained within the truck. There are tools that are used inside the ductwork from within the home to aid in the cleaning process, but those items are being cleaned by the same suction cleaning the ductwork that those tools are in.       IV. [redacted] did not state that “all removal of dirt and other contaminants would be removed up and out of the home”, because it would be impossible to remove the contaminated return from the outside without having to remove the unit on the roof, pulling out that duct, and then reconnecting the unit. Removal and reattachment of the unit on the roof would require a crane to lift the unit out of the way. There would be a crane on the estimate if that were the case, which there is not. Instead, the ductwork was removed from inside the home. The home had a flat-top roof with very little attic space. The unit was directly above the return duct, which was about a foot long. Drop cloths were laid in a path from the return to the door. When the duct was removed, it was immediately placed into a plastic bag and closed. It was then taken out of the home following the path made by drop cloths.   5. The way the events occurred and the statements made according to [redacted] (the Kleen Air Cleaning Tech who did the cleaning that day):       I. [redacted] told [redacted] that there were mold STAINS in the 4 runs of ductwork, NOT mold.       II. When [redacted] asked why [redacted] had not told her before, [redacted] stated that the mold stains were hidden under the dirt before the cleaning, so he could not see them.       III. [redacted] did not recommend replacing the ductwork at that time. [redacted] stated that she believed there was a leak in the roof. [redacted] then, based on that new information, recommended replacement of those 4 ducts due to possible mold being on the outside of the ductwork and in the insulation. [redacted] then asked how much it would cost to replace those ducts and [redacted] stated he would give her an estimate.       IV. Mold stains are not a contamination, they only show a previous mold presence. Mold stains are not an active contaminant. If there was an active mold contamination, the dirt on top of the stain would be wet and/or molded. That is why when [redacted] asked if all the cleaning would be undone until the ducts could be replaced, [redacted] stated it should not make a difference. If it were mold, there would definitely be concern of the cleaned system getting recontaminated. Since it was not mold, but only stains caused by previous mold, there was not cause for alarm. When [redacted] learned of the roof leak, he became concerned that the attic area could have mold, including the exterior portion of the ducts. Although there was no evidence of mold in the airflow after cleaning, mold could get into the airflow if the ductwork had even the slightest bit of leakage. That is why [redacted] recommended replacement.   6. The cleaning was done to NADCA standards       I. The proper steps were taken in cleaning the system.       II. The proper protocol for removal of the contaminated return duct was performed by [redacted]   In closing, Kleen Air can find no reason or compelling evidence to give [redacted] any refund at all, especially a full refund.
