Carstan Construction Corp. Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]Yes Carstan has replaced the skylights without us agreeing to a date.  They claim we knew but WE did not settle on a definite day.  My family and I were not home.  They installed three skylights in a room that has white carpets in that had debris of roofing and tar on it.  The light switch was broken and I just should have called the police because of when we asked if they came in they denied.  I know have ALL damage from leaks that are apparent throughout my home.  They sent a gentleman by the name of Anthony (their spackle and painting man).  He saw and documented all of the damage throughout the house and said he will tell Dave that this all needs to be repaired BEFORE he does any work on his behave because it would be useless until they find where all the other leaks are coming from.  He was here the first Saturday of October and I have not heard a word from Carstan since.

Be advised that the leaks the homeowner were originally complaining about (from the roof and/or skylights) have been repaired. Skylights and roofing around skylights have been repaired. Homeowner complained about not being notified of delivery of materials and/or start of work but a message was left and a conversation was recently had with homeowner in regard to the misunderstanding. In addition, there was an apparent outlet that was broken at the time of said repair that we have since agreed to repair.

Please be advised that complaint number [redacted] has been
satisfied in the following manner:Customer made formal complaint that the skylights that were
installed in his home 14 years ago were leaking. Please be advised that the

roofing around skylights on Friday, November [redacted], 2015. Please
respond with any additional information inquiries.

Review: approximately 12-13 years ago carstan put on a new shingled roof, flat roof, vinyl siding and put in new skylights and windows at our house. have had many leaks over a period of the last 10 years or so. many phone calls and follow up calls by me trying to get these problems fixed. too much time ( months ) between my first call of a leak and the patch job finally done each time. I had asked to replace the roof a while back and was asked to let them attempt to fix the leaks again and I agreed, only to find this a temporary fix. I contacted carstan again in March of 2015. was promised the world by my new contact Joe and not the past contact Steve. people did come out and assured me it was a metal bracket from an old dish antennae and it was handled in June of 2015. two days later it rained and the leak was still there. now it is 4 more months and winter is coming and still not corrected. I called carstan about 3 weeks ago in a final attempt to have this all handled. I told them I wanted to be contacted by ( Dave ) who I met when the project was done 12 or so years ago and I was told he was the owner. I have not heard from him as of yet, today being oct. ** 2015, and now 7 months of leaks.Desired Settlement: honor the contract that guarantees me lifetime of corrective measures against product and workmanship in a more timely, replace roof and skylights, and fix leak in wall.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

. a female from the company(carstan) left a message on my home machine stating that the roofer was at my house to measure the skylights. the message was left on 11-**-15 or 11-**-15 and I was to call back for arranging them coming the next week. I did not contact them as of 11-**-15 because it was thanksgiving week and I could not confirm. but on this day, I was woken up by a delivery truck. the driver said he had three skylights to drop off. I asked if he had roofing materials also and he said yes, 2 rolls.I didn't think it was enough for the whole roof and I told him I was going to contact the company. I immediately called carstan and explained to the lady answering the phone what was going on and she said she would speak to the roofer and call back. at this time the driver left the materials and took off without me signing anything. my wife and I left and returned never hearing from the company but when we arrived 2 men were on my roof and had 2 of the 3 skylights removed. when I spoke to the person in charge (mike) he told me he was told to come here by dave at carstan. when I called the company right away, I finally got to talk to dave after approximately 9 to 10 years. at this point I was so confused but had to let them finish because I had 2 giant square holes in the roof. my wife found a broken outlet in the middle of the floor and asked me to come in the room of the roof they were working on. Mike told me when I questioned him if they were in the house and he said no but explained the needed electric and blew the circuit outside and my neighbor denied them. upon looking for the broken outlet which I found, I also found 2 plugs dangling from my ceiling, proving they were inside. they could not figure out how to activate the outlet on the ceiling because of the power source switch! they had to come back the next day11-** and said they would be there between 10 and 11 a.m. we were home and never heard from them till 2:15 p.m. on 11-**-15 my wife answered the door to a gentleman would said his name was Anthony. he came without notice and my wife took him around and explained everything. his statements were there is still leaks that have to be addressed before he would do anything . he said to do sheetrock work now would just be a waste of time and that he would speak to dave .haven't heard from anyone till today. the only response I have to the company's statement is that the skylights and or roof has been leaking for 10 years. my leaks started about 2 years after installation with many of promises since of we will fix it, no need to replace the whole roof. this is not the only roof leak, they were called to leaks in my shingled roof which has been addressed, but siding and or window leaks which have never been addressed yet!!!!!!!!!!!
