Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However I wish to keep this case open until the vehicle is repaired and I receive the final bill for services.  As of this afternoon I have not received the vehicle back from Carter and therefore cannot verify that this is truly resolved.
I'd also like to be reiterate that to my knowledge, prior to the oil pan replacement, there was no sign of metal or bearing pieces in the oil and the engine was defect-free.   Because if there was an existing issue, the certified technicians should have noticed it before replacing the oil pan - at a cost to me of over $700.  While I appreciate Carter's gesture to discount labor, I feel the right solution would have been for Carter to take responsibility and provide all labor for free and the only expense to me would have been the replacement engine.  Even a 50/50 split of the complete repair would have been better. But if the discounted labor is the best offering then I tentatively accept the gesture once the truck is returned to me in working order.  Again, I maintain that the truck's engine was defect-free before I engaged Carter to fix a leaking oil pan.
Sincerely, *** ***

Vehicle has a failed transmission.  Vehicle currently has 119,404 miles, has been driven 23,821 miles since purchased by customer, 12,748 miles since previous transmission repair in July of 2014.

dealership was made aware of the problem) that the repair would be done at no cost to the customer.  Additionally, a loaner vehicle has been provided (as it was during previous repair).

On 12-1-14 [redacted] brought his vehicle in for a oil pan replacement that was leaking from the drain plug, this is the first time that his vehicle was at our store, had 181956 miles and customer supplied parts. agreed to have us supply a pan and finish the job. Installed the new oil pan on 12-2-14 and road tested for two miles, brought back in to check for any leaks, none present. [redacted] picked up his vehicle that day.[redacted] brought back in on 12-17-14 stating that there is low oil pressure and there was noise coming from the engine, we verified that there was noise from the engine and there was a internal damage and that its not cost effective to repair engine and is better to replace. We priced out to install a used engine .
[redacted] the parts and service director has talked to [redacted] about his concerns that Carter Chevrolet may have caused this issue, [redacted] agreed to put the truck up in the air and remove the oil pan to inspect what work we performed. Once oil pan was removed we found metal shavings and a piece of bearing in the oil pan, the oil pump screen and the lower part of the engine was sludge free. We offered [redacted] to come down and inspect himself while the vehicle was up in the air with the oil pan off, [redacted] did not come down to look at the engine.
[redacted] said he had found a used engine on line for $500 for his truck, we agreed that we would install that used engine and we discounted labor to install it. As of 2-13-15 his vehicle is at our shop with the used engine being installed.
I believe we have resolved this issues at this time.

Review: On 12/2/14 I brought my vehicle to Carter Chevrolet to replace an oil pan and gasket, due to a slow leak in the cross-threaded oil plug under the engine that had happened in the past at a different oil change My vehicle was returned to Carter Chevrolet, where they told me they could find no root cause, and that their oil pan repair looked fine. I picked up the vehicle from Carter, and broke down on the way back home from their repair facility. I had the vehicle towed back again to Carter Chevrolet, where it has been for weeks now. Their service department advised me that my engine will need to be replaced, at a "discounted" cost of $2788 including a used engine and labor. I feel Carter Chevrolet did faulty work when replacing the oil pan, and that their work directly caused my engine to fail, as I put very little mileage on it after the oil pan repair was completed. My vehicle was mechanically sound prior to this oil pan replacement and now I'm being told my engine is beyond repair. I've spoken with other area mechanics, who did not diagnose the vehicle on-site but offered their experienced opinions, who feel that shoddy work may have lead to this failure, especially if a screen got sucked into the engine, or was never re-installed. I was also told by other mechanics that it's possible that the oil pump may not have been bolted in correctly. Carter Chevrolet has had the vehicle for some time now, and could very well have hidden or masked the root cause of the engine failure, in an effort to avoid repairs at their cost. It is also possible that their technicians simply don't know why the engine failed, but at this point Carter Chevrolet is not offering to tear down the engine to do a root cause analysis. Instead they're trying to sell me a used engine, while paying Carter AGAIN for repairs that I feel they caused.Desired Settlement: I feel I should have a mechanically sound vehicle, as I did prior to paying Carter Chevrolet to replace a leaking oil pan. I feel Carter should offer their repair services to fully and properly diagnose the issue, and then based on their findings, they would need to convince me that they did not cause this engine failure. Either way, I feel Carter should honor their repair work, which they state on their website as being warrantied. At this point, I don't know that I trust Carter to tell the truth about whether they identified the issue, and whether they did anything to mask potentially faulty work done during the oil pan replacement.

Review: I was leasing [redacted] from [redacted] of [redacted]. In October of 2014 at the end of my lease, I returned the car to [redacted] dealership.

Last month I received a tax bill from [redacted]. I called them and they asked me for the plates returned receipt. I contacted [redacted]. They do not have any record of my plates. My plates were never returned or canceled. I am still responsible for all of the taxes.

I was advised by [redacted] to contact [redacted] of [redacted] can not provide me with a copy of the receipt. They told me to contact [redacted]. They also do not have the receipt. I do not know what to do.

According to the Town of [redacted] I only owe them for 1 month. [redacted] received I bill from the town and paid it in full 351.00

Now I need to pay this money to [redacted].

Thank youDesired Settlement: they need to provide me with a returned plates receipt.

Review: Purchased a 2008 Mazda CX-9 in November 2013 from Mazda of Manchester. Upon test driving the vehicle there seemed to be many repairs that needed to be done. They agreed to fix the vehicle. After having the vehicle for 2 weeks it came about that the vehicle needed a new transmission. Mazda of Manchester replaced the transmission. Not just once, twice, but is now the third time that I have to bring the vehicle in for yet another blown transmission.Desired Settlement: Dealership to buy back the vehicle and reimbursement
