Again sir, You made your reservation with Expedia not with our hotel.You needed to contact Expedia no later than 3:PM on the 16th to cancel your reservation.You acknowledged understanding and agreement to these terms when you made your reservation with them.Hotel phone lines being down had no effect on your agreements with Expedia or your ability to cancel your reservation with them.Had you been able to contact our hotel prior to to 3:PM on the 16th, we would also have told you to contact Expedia.The hotel has charged you for the first night of your reservation as is our policy (though the hotel has the right to charge you for the entire stay)You should be aware if choose to dispute the the agreed upon valid charges with your credit card company the hotel may seek legal means to secure this debt which would include court costs and could negatively impact your credit history below is your first email to us dated 2/17/at 2:PMHello,I’m trying to call to get a hold of someone about my reservation for this weekend, but your phone number is not working properly and I’ve not been able to get a hold of anyone in any other wayI live in southern California and I’m trying to get there tonight but the weather is not permittingThere is mud on the roads and I cannot make itI was wondering what the process is to get this removed from my billPlease email me back at [email protected] am now getting calls from Expedia representatives who have apparently recorded you stating you traveled to the hotel on the 17th, but the lights were off, so you chose to go to another hotel Regardless of if you chose to stay home, or if you chose not to check in, (whichever of these stories are true) without the permission of hotel management, either of those choices still require you to pay for the hotel room that was being held for you
