Let me start out by extending my apology for your frustrationAllow my to clarify that [redacted] purchased the transmission from us and paid for the unit, thus is our customer Mr [redacted] paid for installation of the unitThe signed invoice to [redacted] clearly states: Consult catalog for specific warrantyThe warranty states the any claimed defective product must be returned directly to SMI for inspectionWe enforce this to insure that the claim is true and accurateMr[redacted] stated that he notice transmission fluid leaking and that there are bolts missing from the transmission panThis type of leak can happen when the gasket shrinks thus the bolts loosen and vibrate out Mr [redacted] expressed his frustration and concerns that he didn't want to return to our shop for the repairs to be doneWe offered to supply him with the parts needed ( With out inspecting the vehicle) and we expressed that we could fix the issue while he waits, but that we would not pay labor to an outside shop We will continue to honor the warranty and repair the work needed until the warranty expires

Have you dropped the pan to see of there are damaging contaminants in the pan? or are you just assuming? As you previously stated, the fluid is leaking from the pan not the transmission. In the transmission industry these are two separate interties ( per say) . Two horns on the same goat I guess you could say. I can only draw my diagnostic conclusion from what you have verbally provided. Two pan bolts missing and transmission fluid leaking. There for my conclusion is that the pan gasket shrunk ( as they some times due ) ( we don’t make the gaskets, we buy them ) causing the pan bolts to vibrate loose and fall out, thus leaking fluid. This would take about 20 minutes to fix. This certainly does not reflect on our workmanship or our product. A vehicle has a lot of moving parts in it , these things can happen. And this is why companies provide warranties. did you receive a copy? That can’t be proven. I couldn't imagine that you would leave with out asking for one. We provide a copy to everyone else , I can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t have received one. As for [redacted] not having a copy, I can’t speak on the behaviors of another company. We have been doing business with [redacted] for many years, I’m certain they were provided a copy. What reputable company would request a copy?As for the fluid. In reference to reusing the fluid in the pan. If the fluid is clean is can be reused. This minor fix doesn’t require 18 quarts of fluid.I agree, it wouldn’t behoove either parties at this point to meet face to face. I will contact ( our customer, [redacted] ) and have the parts waiting in will call.I request that any further correspondence be conducted between SHIFT MANAGEMENT and [redacted] .

I am rejecting this response because:Per the faxed crappy copy that you faxed while the manager of *** was on the phone with you it states that nobody can work on the transmission without prior authorization from Shifty ManagementHave you authorized me to work on itNo you haven't you mn I haven't touched it nor has anybody elseAnd what is inerties? If you are going to argue in writing with somebody in the public forum buy a dictionary so you know how to spellDo I assume that there are contaminants in the panNO? I just said it is possibleDo I know where the leak is coming from? NO ? The only thing that I assumed was that you were a good, reputable transmission shop based on what *** saidThey were wrong and so was I, you are nothing but a bunch of HACKS and it amazes the lengths you have gone to to avoid spending a mere $after a customer spends approx$Do you think this *** is going to refer anybody else to youDon't ASSUME they willAs for your warranty when I paid there was a lot going on when I paid and picked up my truck and it mostly had to do with that mn *** you had working the front counterHe has since been FIRED because he was an mn per KyleIt's businesses like Shifty Management that ruin it for all the good honest companies in townIt is without a doubt that the Bureau of Automotive repair needs to have a serious look at Shifty Management to gauge if they are worthy of retaining their license to operate.I ASSUME that you'll get the parts ordered today so this matter can be closed and the public can read all about Shifty Management on the Revdex.com website and be appalled by the other abysmal reviews on Yelp and other websites.UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!

I am rejecting this response because: So soon they forget or change what I had told themI came back each time telling them that the transmission was not shifting correctly and that it seemed to slip between shiftsThey seem to hear or say what they want and not what I told themAnd as for returning the transmission to the vendor they voided my warranty when they opened it up to change things They blame everything on others and do not live up to their word. So bottom line I would not use this company again

I am rejecting this response because: After reading the response from Shifty Management I went over to see the *** Manager to look at the invoice that says "refer to catalog for warranty"It actually does say that but the problem with that is the *** manager has no idea what catalog they are referring toHe does not have any idea what they are talking aboutThey have no catalog and have never had a catalogThis transmission was not picked out of a catalogWe just called Shift Management and talked to Joe and I then paid for the transmissionShift management has changed their position repeatedly since this problem occurredFirst it was"We have the right to demand that you bring the vehicle in so we can do the workWe have to do the work they saidNext it was we'll supply the parts after we look at itThen it went to we have to inspect it with no mention of work to itNow it is we'll supply the parts with no inspection necessary Nobody ever said that they can fix it while I waitLies,Lies,LiesMaking it up as they go alongWhen the *** manager called Shift Management the other day they faxed over some piece of paper that seems to define their warranty requirementsThis was first anybody had seen anything related to warranty info, now with their response it refers to an imaginary catalog that nobody has seen or heard ofThese guys are a jokeInstead of accepting responsibility for their errors they are jumping through hoops to blame myself and *** for not having the warranty infoThis info should have been supplied to me at the time I picked up my truckIt's their WARRANTY AND IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ALL PARTIES INVOLVED HAVE A COPY OF SAID WARRANTYThey are intentionally not issuing copies of the warranty info so when the time comes for warranty work they can just blame others and point fingers in a feeble attempt to avoid responsibilityMy receipt says "bought thru ***" not "bought by ***And please your feeble apology is also a joke because when I mentioned bringing Revdex.com in to help I was told go ahead and do itBiggest mistake ever calling Shifty Management

Tell The conversion 200Rtransmission that Mr*** is referencing was purchased from another vender out of FloridaMr*** had another automotive shop install the unit, but they were unable to adjust the linkageMr*** brought the vehicle to us to adjust the linkageThe
customer picked up the vehicle, returned a few days later unhappy with the way the lockup feltIt worked correctly, he just didn’t like the way it feltHe then decided to convert the unit to a non-lockup in order to achieve a firm shiftKeep in mind that this unit is not oursWe only converted the unitTo achieve and install the non-lockup requires removing the unit, removing the front pump, installing a non-lockup valve and provided a non-lockup torque converterWe converted the customers torque convert in to a non-lockup, there for there isn’t one to return to the customerThe customer brought the vehicle back again, unhappy with the feeling of the non-lockupWe suggested to change the servo, thus providing a firmer shiftIt was expressed to the customer that the work we are providing is simply a band aid effect since we don’t know how the transmission was builtThe servo was not installedAll transmissions shops are not the sameGoing through and tearing down a unit is much more intensively involved then just removing the front pumpOne cannot identify how a transmission is built simply by removing a front pump. Our professional opinion is that the unit Mr*** purchased works fineWe feel that the unit was not built to his specification / preferenceIt was expressed to Mr*** that without going through the unit and making the necessary adjustments, we can only adjust the linkage and try to achieve his request the best we canus why here

This is the first time we have heard about any slipping with in the transmissionOnly the adjustment of the linkage has been mentioned and addressedIn order to fix any slipping with in the Transmisson , the unit has to be torn down and gone throughMy suggestion would be to address this issue with the supplier, since the unit is under warrantyFYI; should you choose to let another shop disassemble the unit , this will void any warrantyUnless you get permission from the supplier
