This company either has incompetent employees, or is trying to set people up for excessive none payment fees through the court by lying to them. I contacted this company to try and settle an old debt, and was told by their employee that the debt was so old that they had dropped it and would no longer be perusing it. A few months later I started receiving daily calls harassing me for the same debt that they had told me they had dropped, and they denied ever telling me that. I informed them that I was no longer in a position to pay them at the moment, as I am currently working on paying my students loans, and I would have to get back to them. They were unwilling to work with me and stated that they had a judgment against me from some court date that I was never even informed of. (Apparently they served a home that I had moved out of 4 years prior, and that's acceptable.) They are now serving me with papers to garnish up to 75% of my take home wages. If they wouldn't have lied to me when I called, they would already be payed off.

Review: Northern Credit Service is refusing to accept Payments, they returned the first 2 checks, Which I returned to them with the third check. They wanted ALL my personal Information Such as:Bank accounts, names and account numbers for service providers (Power, Credit Cards, Phone, etc.) so they can decide how much my monthly payments should be! I believe this is an attempt at identity theft! or an attempt defrauding/embezzling money from the people of Siskiyou County! They refuse payments, then get the court to attach wages, and add a lot ($600+ in my case) in attorney and legal fees. The owner/Co-owner of Northern Credit Service is a Lawyer and weather these practices are legal or not they are at least "Shady".Desired Settlement: I would like Northern Credit Service to: 1) Accept my payments at a minimum of $25.00/month. 2) Drop all the additional fees as they would not have been needed if they had accepted my payments. 3) Prevent this from happening to anyone else, or myself, again.Thank You

Not sure we have any kind of contract. Northern Credit Service sent us a statement of what we owed for past medical bills and we started to send in payment. They wouldn't accept the payments and had us served on the morning of February 14th 2015. since the original summons they have added a lot of extra fees that would NOT have been necessary if they accepted the payments. Legal or not I feel this is very wrong and appreciate you looking into this matter. Thank You

As a collection agency we receive accounts assigned to our business to recover for our clients. The balances are due and payable at the time of assignment and taking payments is a courtesy. We try to work with consumers on a reasonable payment plan to complete payment in a reasonable period of time. We were told by the consumer that this is how much I will pay and you will accept it. It was not an amount acceptable and matters were filed in Siskiyou County Court and a judgment was obtained. Northern Credit Service does not have a co-owner who is an attorney as stated by the consumer. The State of California requires all third parties to use an attorney to file legal actions and those fees are set by the state. It is unfortunate that we could not come to terms on an agreeable payment plan
