Carter Moving and Delivery Reviews (3)

I have spoken with the customer multiple times, we are a labor only based company which means we only provide labor services we load or unload trucks for customers, when customers book us online they agree that moving help is not responsible , we cannot control how customers drive the roads EtC ......

The reason why we make it when booking us online that we are not responsible for damages because once the items are out of our hands we can't be responsible for them anymore, nothing was damaged at the time when we completed the job, another company on the other end unloaded, very sorry ,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

Regards,
The company is lying they have not spoken to me multiple times like they claim, please have them show prove of contact. I will attach text messages and emails that show me trying to communicate and not receiving any response. I agree that the company is only responsible for loading. They damaged my goods while loading, I pointed it out to the loaders when they were half loading the truck then ran out of space and tried jamming everything in to make it fit. That's when the damage was done. The company had refused to communicate with me, the only communication is the response they posted here in response to my complain. I am not going to let them bully me into to thinking it's my fault.

I normally don't write reviews beyond a few words. Usually, I just click the rate button and avoid adding any text.
When setting up the appointment, I had requested that Gary have all furniture wrapped. I supplied 48 Uhaul blankets. Within 10 minutes of the start of loading, an employee who Gary stated was leading the project proceeded to lay a piece of expensive furniture on its side onto a furniture mover without initially wrapping the piece. While pushing that same piece up a ramp, one of the doors opened and broke. I had to demand that all furniture was to be wrapped prior to moving it.
About 20 minutes later, I watched the same employee shove a very heavy piece of furniture about a foot across our original hardwood floors before I stopped him. The owner Gary witnessed the incident and jokingly stated to his employee that he was fired. Gary then proceeded to wipe water onto one of the new scratches and assured me that the scratches would go away. I had to tell him that one should never put water on hardwood. After that, Gary disappeared to his vehicle, and he sat in his car for the remainder of the project which was about an hour.
I hired 4 workers for 2 hours. They moved 1 queen bed, 2 armoirs, 1 sideboard, 1 large dresser, 1 small dresser, 4 end tables, 1 small entertainment console, 1 small dining table, 6 chairs, 1 TV, some boxes and odds and ends small stuff, gym equipment, and some plants. It took them 2 hours and 20 minutes. Prior to leaving, the same employee who made extensive damages asked for the billing code. He told me that normally I would pay for a full 3rd hour, but it would be dropped due to the damages. Immediately afterwards, he asked me rate them highly right then so that they could get more work. Later that day, I found many other new scratches on the floor. I emailed Gary about the scratches. His response was that my floor already had scratches on it and that the scratches would be fine.
While unloading the truck, we found a broken TV. It had been placed directly on the bed of a 26' Uhaul truck which can bounce extensively while driving. During the load, I stated that I planned on moving the TV myself, but I was assured by one of Gary's employees that he would load my TV in a manner that would keep it safe. When I emailed Gary about this, his response is that they recommend moving all TVs in boxes which actually contradicts his employee's recommendation and actions.
In the end, the move was costly. I have had 4 other moving companies over the past 3 years with even lower ratings, and all of them caused much less in damages.
