I am rejecting this response because: this is all untrue. I called the ins co n told them of my Dads passing n did talk to people on the phone then after his death a month later they took the premiums from my dead Fathers account which I was also paying. I was told to come in November this year to renew papers. I was there. Someone dropped the ball n don't want to admit it. If they told me to come in to renew papers I would have I've gotten letters to my p.o. box from them. How do they know that if I didn't talk to them it wasn't in the obituary.   There was no court proceedings no probate no will nothing I was pod and beneficiary of my Dads things n that's it.    Them taking money out  of my dead Fathers account put me in that contract. I don't have time or money or reason to try n figure out all that estate stuff. Myself and everyone I have talked to about it believes they are doing me very wrong n I don't understand how they can't just put the check in my name when they took the money it was my money I paid all the bills for the past year and they know the house is in my name. I'm not asking for anything except for them to honor the contract. My Dad used them for many years and he made everything easy as possible for me at the time of his death and this just is not right.                                            Thank you.

Complainant is the daughter of one of our insureds with a policy period of 11-28-16to11-28-17. In January of 2017 we receive notice of returned mail. (See attached A) On March 2, 2017 our office sent multiple letters to insured asking them to contact our office. ( see attached B&C) We became...

aware of our insured death through a search of local obituaries and per underwriting guidelines the policy was changed to The Estate OF. From March 2, 2017 until the Hurricane on August 26, 2017 we had no contact from the complainant as to the Insureds property. The house was set to non-renew per underwriting guidelines on November 28, 2017. We reported a hurricane claim to the insurance company, they adjusted it and issued a check in the name of the insured on the Declarations Page per law. The complainant is unable to cash the check. We do not have an insurance policy in the complainant's name. We have a policy in the name of the Estate of the complainant's deceased father and must issue the check as such. Complainant needs to check with the court as how to handle the Estate. We do not get in volved with the handleing of Estate matters that is up to the courts. It is the insured responsibility to make us aware of changes that need to be made to the policy. Complaintant nor the insured made us aware of any changes to the policy prior to the Hurricane.
