Cartoon Cuts

Review: On Saturday, June 8 2013, my wife and I decided to bring our son to Cartoon Cuts for his first haircut. We selected Cartoon Cuts based on the belief that they could handle an 18 month old's haircut. Once called to a chair and seated, my son sat on my lap. There was a TV playing cartoons. We had an extremely hard time understanding the accent of the hairdresser and based on how she started cutting our son's hair, she couldn't understand us either. My son started crying and fussing as soon as the apron was put on. The hairdresser started with the clippers and trimmed the back of my son's neck and head. He continued to cry. My wife saw lollipops on the work station and asked if my son could have one in order to calm him down. The hairdresser proceded to cut the front of my son's hair. It was at this point she cut my son with her scissors. The cut was on his forehead. By the look of the cut, we could tell she had literally cut into his skin. My sister has been cutting hair for 18 years and has never seen an injury like this. As my son screamed, no one came to our aid. The hairdresser had to dig through her supply drawer to find a bandage. We were given nothing to clean the cut and saw no sign of a first aid kit. The girl behind the counter didn't get up out of her chair to assist and there was no manager present. It was also apparent no one on the premises was trained in how to handle an injury. The hairdresser used the excuse that my son had moved. I told her that was why we had selected to bring our son to Cartoon Cuts because they catered to children's haircuts. Another mother in the shop offered us some antibacterial cream. We filled out an incident report and heard nothing from the company for 2 days. My wife called and was put on hold 3 times. She was told they could only cover paying for the medical bills. My wife asked for documentation stating they agreed to pay for any medical bills and she was told they have no such form. This entire experience was absolutely horrible.Desired Settlement: A written apology and money to pay for a completed haircut at another barber shop or salon.Documentation stating that Cartoon Cuts agrees to pay for all medical expenses related to the injury. To know what the standard operating procedure is for incidents such as ours.To know the employment status of the hairdresser ([redacted]), the girl behind the counter, and the manager.We would also like to be reassured that there is a first aid kit on the premises.
