I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I don't agree with this out come but I am going to drop my complaint because I have to live here for now but will be looking for another place to call home that dose not feel like a prison which I also expressed to the property manger when I last spoke with her, it is clear here that you don't have a voice it's just sad that you have to live that way, I am not well an I need my son to help me on a daily basis so they are not a place to help you when you are down but take an break up famliesYes my son did wrong by speaking the way he did but that is what family dose look out for each other her was only upset because his family's privacy was invaded in the worst way..I have spoken to a lawyer on this matter an I can get the bar over turned, but I can't afford to retain a lawyer at this time..I hold not bad feelings an me an my family just going to let the matter drop for as I said I have to live here for now an so dose *** an my granddaughter which has to cry herself to sleep most nights because she NEEDS her fathershe don't understand for she is Autsic an routine is crictal but they don't care about that is all about the rules their rules some of which they can reverse, my son never caused any peoblems while he was there no drug no drinking an mostly stayed in the home unless he was her with mebut I would never tell someone that I care about to live here..Like I said there is no care for the people who live here it's a prison..Not a home

Please accept this as a formal response to a complaint filed by *** ***, an occupant at our apartment community located in Roanoke, Virginia
I spoke to Ms*** for the first time on May 29, in regards to a grievance she had pertaining to a charge she was assessed for not having her
apartment prepared for an extensive pest control treatment I explained to Ms*** that the basis for the fee that was assessed for her not being prepared was that we have to pay for the exterminator coming back for a second treatment when units are not properly prepared Ms*** then brought forth her unhappiness about not having screens in her windows which prevented her from opening the windows up I apologized for the situation with the screens, and I explained to her that we build screens in house and we are working on a list of residents who are put on that list based on expression of desire to have screens I explained that we would add her to the list and screens would be built for her once we arrived at her name We talked for some time, but Ms*** seemed satisfied with my explanation of her concerns when our conversation was complete
I then received a call from Ms*** on July 21, regarding her son being barred from the property for inappropriate behavior She immediately told me that the manager was lying and that her son never disrespected the manager, but when I explained to her that the cameras in the office picked up his behavior she then got angry and said that he was “egged” on to call the manager what he did I advised her that his behavior is unacceptable, and went on to let her know that the manager was doing him a service to even discuss an issue at his girlfriend’s unit with him because he is not on the lease anywhere She told me that he has to be there for his daughter and he has to help care for her, but I explained HUD has guidelines that do not allow for individuals who are not leaseholders to live in a subsidized unit Our conversation continued and I would not waiver from explaining that he would not be allowed back on the property due to his disrespect of the manager, and eventually Ms*** hung up the phone on me and that was the end of the conversation
At *** *** we strive to create the most enjoyable living experience possible for our residents, and their complete satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us
Thank you so much for taking the time to handle this situation
Sincerely,*** ***

Review: There has been a problem sense day one with this landlord she is rude un prof. talks to the tenants "me" any kind of way won't work with you an won't let you speak an then threats you with eviction.I moved in on 2-4-14 an have been asking for screens for my windows so I can open them an still have not got them an I live on the bottom floor, she fined me $50 for not clearing 4 small drawer's during a spraying the apartment was not cleaned when I moved in took me a month to clean. On 7-18-14 they were spraying my son's building [redacted]. an he got them on tape going threw his things that should have not been touched when we brought it to her attention she got really nasty an loud with all who was involved an when I told her no one up her was to found of her an that's why she never came out of her office by herself she not only barred my son from here but told me that I too was going to get notice of eviction.I take this as a threat an for no reason, this makes three time's she has threathen me for asking questions or requesting things that are standard for being an feeling safe in my home..I don't drink an I don't do drugs an should not be yelled an disrespected because I live in low income.Desired Settlement: screens for my windows an to spoken to like an adult as well as other things I did not state in this request..An protection from eviction...It is clear that this woman has done some good for the apartments but not all people are bad...I spoke with the regional manger an got no where..

Please accept this as a formal response to a complaint filed by [redacted], an occupant at our apartment community located in Roanoke, Virginia.

I spoke to Ms. [redacted] for the first time on May 29, 2014 in regards to a grievance she had pertaining to a charge she was assessed for not having her apartment prepared for an extensive pest control treatment. I explained to Ms. [redacted] that the basis for the fee that was assessed for her not being prepared was that we have to pay for the exterminator coming back for a second treatment when units are not properly prepared. Ms. [redacted] then brought forth her unhappiness about not having screens in her windows which prevented her from opening the windows up. I apologized for the situation with the screens, and I explained to her that we build screens in house and we are working on a list of residents who are put on that list based on expression of desire to have screens. I explained that we would add her to the list and screens would be built for her once we arrived at her name. We talked for some time, but Ms. [redacted] seemed satisfied with my explanation of her concerns when our conversation was complete.

I then received a call from Ms. [redacted] on July 21, 2014 regarding her son being barred from the property for inappropriate behavior. I advised her that his behavior is unacceptable, and went on to let her know that the manager was doing him a service to even discuss an issue at his girlfriend’s unit with him because he is not on the lease anywhere. She told me that he has to be there for his daughter and he has to help care for her, but I explained HUD has guidelines that do not allow for individuals who are not leaseholders to live in a subsidized unit. Our conversation continued and I would not waiver from explaining that he would not be allowed back on the property due to his disrespect of the manager, and eventually Ms. [redacted] hung up the phone on me and that was the end of the conversation.
