To The Revdex.com,Re:lncomplete Repair Service to 20006 Mini Cooper Stock #19187
This is my response to mr. [redacted] Carville's letter of October 2nd ,.#[redacted]
Mr [redacted] Carville states that he includes a work sheet for the items checked on my car from Carville Auto Mart,he states that my car was "fully reconditioned". I enclose [redacted]s from Big 0 tires, where they state the tires were cracked & old. Dangerous. I enclose [redacted]s from Mini Cooper of Loveland, where they did an evaluation , the liquids had to be flushed ,they were were dirty and badly , needed changing .The trim over the front fenders were not attached to the cars body and had glue on them, the paint which was promised to be "like new" so said Mr [redacted] Carville, "we have an artist who will make it look like new. was far from acceptable " The drivers side door, interior has a separation of about 3 inches and a large crack in the panel. This does not sound like "fully reconditioned." Mr Carville mentioned an airbag problem, that Carville took care of ,not so, it was taking car of in Mimi Cooper of Loveland dealership, where I took the car.. The [redacted]s I enclosed reflect this repair. To add fuel to the fire, I googled blue book and found out that [redacted] Carville, told me he was selling me the car for "$500. below book value" when I checked I found that I trusted an untrustworthy person, it turned out to be $3000. more then the book value.
In answer to" the favor they did me" by delivering the car to Aspen & holding the car for two months. Mr [redacted] Carville was most anxious to hold the car for the 3 wks Id be away, and he seemed most happy to deliver the car to Aspen, I said it would be better to deliver it to Glenwood Springs. which was one hour closer for driver. When the car was delivered it had Oil sprayed on the front, from what the driver told me was a faulty delivery truck. Mr [redacted] Carville states the driver offered to get the car washed for me,not so, He said "YOU should get this car washed",
Mr. [redacted] Carville stated he usually charges $400.00 for such a delivery,he seems to forget he delivered my friend [redacted] car Just a 2yrs ago for free. I was gone from June 1st til the 21st of June. I called [redacted] for a delivery date,he told me he was trying to find someone to deliver the car. I continued to call every 4 days or so because I never heard back from [redacted]. He always apologized and told me how he was busy with other customers. When I finally got a delivery date he informed me the temporary license plate was outdated, apparently no one told the person who makes this license up to hold off for a few weeks. So I had to drive some 30 miles back to Aspen„ in my friends car ,to get plates and come back and install them myself. The period of time for delivery turned out to be two weeks, before they could get the car to me. [redacted] had lots of time to set up a delivery as I was gone 3 wks.. He never said he would do the paint over,as Mr [redacted] Carville states in his letter.,1 left messages for both [redacted] Carville & [redacted] ,and never got a message back.
In conclusion The paint on hood was not the right color& not properly filled in, what [redacted] Carville Said",it will look like new." was not true. To say the car was fully reconditioned is far from true, as Mr [redacted] Carville said in his letter. .A fast deal was made.
I will drive the car back to Grand junction ,I have already replaced all four tires, which you can re-enbursh me.for. I wasn't going to drive around on tires that were not safe.
I would like the door on drivers side to have a replacement inside panel& attached to the outside door.properly
I would like the paint on the car to reflect what was promised "We have a guy that's an artist,it will look like new." I frankly feel the paint on the hood needs to be sanded down and repainted. I think this is not asking for much, being that I payed you $3000.00 more than the book value. As per [redacted] " I'm selling you the car for $500. under book value. I trusted [redacted] Carville and [redacted] who were so charming, until they had my money.
As I added a clear bra,on the day the car was delivered, invoice is included, not to incur more chips in the paint, please carefully remove and replace the bra when paint is done properly.
Carville Motors should be doing business in a more responsible manner..
sincerely,
[redacted]

As President Owner of Carville's Auto Mart I am responding to ID# [redacted]. As is often the case, persons who write complaint letters often tell only one side of the issue, or worse, misrepresent the facts.  Certainly "Bait and Switch" is unfair and in certain cases illegal and is not...

permitted at Carville's. The Challenger in question (along with several other vehicles) was offered on line as an internet special from January 9th thru January 24th 2014 with a special price reduction from $25,995 to $23,500 (our actual cost is $23,410). The Challenger is currently back on line at $25,995.00. NADA retail value is $27,700.00, Kelley Blue book value is $27,500.00. The allegation that the vehicle was advertised for 6 months on 3 websites for $23,500.00 is absolutely false.  On January 17th Carville's negioated at deal with the [redacted]'s at $23,500.00 for the Challenger and $16,000.00 for their Toyota Scion based on final inspection of their trade vehicle which was not at the dealership.  Here is the real issue. The [redacted]'s did not disclose that their trade had major hail damage which apparently they tried to hide by covering the hood, roof and trunk with carbon fiber. Then tried to tell Carville's it was a special package from Toyota which it was not. Later they admitted to [redacted] (manager) they had been paid 3 different times from the insurance company for hail damage. The Challenger was offered to [redacted]'s at the sale price of $23,500.00 without their trade but they refused the offer and yet they are questioning the integrity and practices of Carville's??  We do like doing business with persons who have a willingness to lie or misrepresent facts and then try to defame our business in doing so. It is Carville's Auto Mart employees that should receive an apology from the [redacted]'s for Carville's wasted time and effort. In addition to their attempts to pass off their hail damage Toyota thru deceit blaming Carville's for their inability to make a deal. Cordially, [redacted] Carville Carville's Auto Mart

TO THE Revdex.com,RE RUST ON MY CAR
When I purchased my Jeep GC , I specifically called to ask if you had this particular model and was told you only had one such car. Your comment to me about having over 100 cars to choice from, has no baring whatsoever on this case . I drove down from Aspen to see this particular car.As I circled the car I asked your salesmen "is there any rust on the car, he said no". I took him at his word ,and had no reason to view it from a lift. Five months later I noticed rust spots coming thru the paint just behind the right back door.l took the car to a repair shop in Glenwood Springs and was told there was considerable rust under the car in this area, which was the source of the outbreak and that it would reappear even if patched, unless the main source was cut out After it was patched ,indeed ,it reappeared in four to five months, just as predicted . All of this took more than one year to play out. Both the body shop and [redacted] ,told me the cost to get all of the rust removed would at least $5000.00.Concequently the cost of the car should have been less than I paid by @ least $5000.00. The reason you lowered the price originally was because my son-in-law pointed out the asking price was far above the blue book price. My son-in-law & I did not know of the rust or we would never had bought the car. Additionally ,I have spent more than $5000.00 on the car ,new tires ,patching, rust area twice , all which make it a wonderful car to drive. However the rust that still exists devalues the car greatly.
In your letter to me you state that I refused a service contract which was offered me,l did in fact accept the service contract you offered me.
I do like the car, very much, and do not wish to return it. I would like reinburshment or repair to eliminate the existing rust.
Regards, [redacted]. [redacted] [redacted]

[redacted], after speaking with you and reviewing the events that took place is apparent you were well aware you were co signing for your son [redacted].  [redacted] called you from the dealership and talked to you about co signing for an automobile he was interested in and you agreed to help by co...

signing.  He then handed his cell phone to Nick who took all of your information from you including SSN#, birth date, residence information and work information to obtain financing.  The fact you were applying for credit to help your son get financing for a vehicle does not effect your credit score, but the recent derogatory credit most likely did.  Per our conversation the last time you had checked your credit was in March of 2015 when you applied for car credit at [redacted].  Since then you had multiple late payments on your [redacted] installment loan, and you are currently past due 2 payments on your credit card.  Other things such as taking on a new car payment increasing your debt to income can also effect your credit score. Since you have not seen your credit score since taking on the new car payment and with the recent derogatory credit these events are the reasons your score have dropped.  Furthermore there are several reporting agencies which scores are vary between all sources.  You had mentioned that you are basing your changed credit score from credit wise a site provided by your credit card company,  this is not what a dealership looks at to obtain financing.  The score you received from [redacted] in 2015 would have been from a Trans Union, Equifax, or Experian.  You had stated you now are a 546 on credit wise but those scores differ from what we pulled for Trans Union a 599, 612 on Equifax, and 620 on a Experian.  So as you can see all scores vary greatly depending on what site you use.A credit inquiry is not a hit to your credit but your recent derogatory payments will have effected your credit score.  Carville's Auto Mart did not make those late payments on your credit, it is up to you to maintain a good payment history.  We would be more than happy discuss ways to improve your credit but only you can repair the recent damage you have done by those untimely payments. If you have any other questions please contact the dealership and we would be more than happy to assist you.

[redacted], we have helped you many times with the issues you that you were having with your car. Just in dealer expenses we have done over $2500 in work at no cost to you on your 2004 PT Cruiser. These repairs were non covered items as well as you went over on the basic power train warranty of 12...

months/12000 miles that we helped financed for you at $995. Since you owned the PT Cruiser we show you have put 13,618 miles in just 7 months with no maintenance records showing up keep on your vehicle and now have let it repossess after writing a bad check for payment and going over 30 days past due. Looking back we helped you considerably when you originally came to us and purchased a Mazda RX8 in August of 2015. Unfortunately you lost your job during the funding process and the bank would no longer provide financing since you were not working. You drove the RX8 for over a monthbefore you brought it back to us and we waived the day and mileage usage fees and helped you get into another vehicle by financing you in house on the 2004 PT Cruiser even though you did not have a job. As you stated the car was great in the beginning which was 5 months (not 2 months) of owning it then on 2/24/16 you brought it in to us for an overheating problem after putting over 9,000 miles on it since you purchased it on 9/24/2015. We repaired the radiator and diagnosed an air bubble in the system, and that seemed to take care of the issues until after another 1000 miles on it and on 3/10/16 you brought it back to us again for overheating. At that time we spent $2108 on replacing the radiator, water pump, timing belt and an engine mount all at Carville's Auto Mart's expense to help you since these were non covered items. Again the car was fine for a little over a month and another 1000 miles later when you started having issues of it using excessive oil and smoking. We had it taken to an outside facility on 4/15/2016 who could get a diagnosis sooner so we could get it repaired for you. The diagnostic was that it had a bad turbo and it was blowing oil through the top of the engine thou later inspections show that it was not the turbo but the valve cover gasket. I spoke with the owner of the shop and he stated he told you not to drive the vehicle until it was fixed because it was losing so much oil. Not taking his recommendation you drove the vehicle for another month and putting 2258 miles on it in that condition before bringing it to us on 5/19/2016 with oil covering the windshield which is when we did a valve cover gasket for you. We made a agreement that we would do it at our dealer cost of $280 and we would take a hold check but you needed to for it pay it since you now have owned the car for 7 months and put 13,419 miles on it. However, instead of giving us the check you took off with the car without paying for the repairs. At this point you wrote a bad check to us for payment, were over 30 days late and skipped out on the repair bill and we were still trying to help. Since that repair you drove the car 200 more miles before it failed which is most likely due to the 2258 miles driven when advised not to with the major oil leak from the valve cover gasket and running with little to no oil for that last month. You could also show no oil changes or service for the last 7 months and 13618 miles you put on the vehicle. At this point I feel there is not much I can help with now being you told us you will not be paying for the car and let it repossess.

The [redacted]'s made a custom order Coachmen Apex Camper and signed a purchase agreement on 4/1/2017.  This was a special request and due to the costs incurred by the Dealership all custom orders require a non-refundable $5,000 deposit. Special arrangements were granted for the [redacted]'s on this...

order and Carville's agreed to a non-refundable $1,000 deposit at time of signing. The customers were made aware that it takes 4-8 weeks for special orders to arrive at the dealership and be inspected for delivery. The [redacted]s agreed to this time frame as well as the deposit terms. No specific dates where given to the [redacted]s due to the fact that production times and transportation can vary. Carville's continually kept in contact with the [redacted]'s through text and phone conversations of the status of their order. The unit arrived within the agreed upon time frame. The customers were made aware that the unit had arrived and they decided that they no longer wanted the unit. At this time they spoke with two different managers; Darin C[redacted], General Manager; Matt F[redacted], Sales Manager; and Lucas H[redacted], sales associate. The customers requested that they be released from the Purchase commitment, and agreed that the $1,000 deposit be kept for expenses incurred by the dealership.  These were the terms that the customers agreed upon for breach of their contract.  Carville's made an exception on retaining only the minimum deposit and released the [redacted]'s from the Purchase commitment with no further legal action. The issue was resolved to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.

Gentlemen,
I am responding to the response letter sent to you concerning ID [redacted].
Carville's position is that we offered a fair solution to the issues she stated in her original complaint and continue to stand by our offer.
I will not debate all the items Mrs. [redacted] continues to bring up and certainly do not accept them all as true or revelent. She purchased an 8 year old vehicle and my original response addressed the issues she brought up in her original complaint. It appears her and Mr. [redacted] (ID[redacted]) are friends in Aspen so I would like wise recommend that she seek legal advice if our offer of assistance is not acceptable.
Cordially,
[redacted] Carville
