Cary Deck Restoration

Complaint[redacted] did a shoddy job of restoring my deck. He didn't even return my calls and emails for him to come back to fix the problems.[redacted] restored my deck in February 2015. He did a shoddy job and pressured me and my wife for payment even before finishing the work. It turned out that he forgot to put screws on the whole row of the boards. I had to call and email many times to argue and beg him to come to fix the problems. He finally came without noticing me and claimed he fix the problems. I found the other day that one piece of the lumber and several of the steps were deformed and tilted up on one end. It turned out the he didn't put screws on those placed. Now he didn't even return my calls and emails.Desired SettlementCome to my house to fix the problems and finish the job.Mr [redacted],While I realize we resolved this quite some time ago I did want to respond online. You are correct in that after we completed the job there were some boards that were not completely screwed down, this was because half the deck was covered in snow and we weren't able to see the issue at the time. Once we were made aware we promptly came back and resolved the issue. We also did a complete inspection and walk around with you at that time and everything looked good. I told you when we did the estimate that the new wood was going to need to be sealed as soon as possible to protect the wood. There are 2 HVAC units directly under the stairs, the dryer vent blows directly onto the stairs, and your kitchen exhaust vent is under the deck. All this heat and moisture is brutal for the wood which is why it was critical to get the wood sealed. We came back on 3 or 4 more occasions at your request and added additional fasteners to the stair boards and railing boards because they were moving. Each stair tread had 10-12 or so screws holding it down , which is a first for us. After every visit I personally inspected the deck with you and agreed everything was done, and I again pleaded with you to let us seal the deck for you to protect the wood. We have not heard back but hope you got the deck sealed and you are enjoying your deck.
