Cary Orthopaedics Reviews (3)

I found Cary Orthopedics on my health insurance's website and when I called to make the appointment I was told that their facility with in-network with my insurance. I brought my daughter in to see Dr [redacted] who was very professional & he referred us to [redacted] a subsidiary of Cary Orthopedics. The physical therapists were wonderful, also. The problems started when I began to receive out-of-network EOBs from my insurance company and I contacted the billing dept at Cary Orthopedics. It was so obvious that "the right hand didn't know what the left hand is doing". WHY would they inform a patient that they are in-network & accept my co-payment, then when the EOB arrives, tell me that the doctor is in-network (that they would resubmit claim), but the physical therapist is not in network?!! This should have been made clear upfront at my first phone contact and again at my initial appointment. Billing staff is rude and keeps poor records of phone contact (I called twice, but they "supposedly only have a record of me calling once"). I guess they ae now covering themselves since they've lied to so many patients about accepting this particular insurance place. Very poor communication and very bad customer service.

Cary Orthopaedic didn't submit the correct info to my insurance provider for my surgery.Instead of fixing the error they're billing me with 0 coverag I had surgery in 2013. Cary Ortho is just now billing me over a year later. A surgical assistant was used during the surgery without my knowledge. Since Cary Ortho didn't submit the correct codes to my insurance provider, this assistant was not covered by my insurance. Instead of fixing their error, Cary Ortho is passing the full cost (with no coverage) on to me. My insurance statement clearly states that the can not bill me for this since I had no knowledge that this assistant would be used. This isn't the first time Cary Ortho has filed poorly with my insurance and then tried to pass to cost on to me. There billing practice is completely unethical. All they would have to do is take the time to work with the insurance company to sort things out bu they find it easy to just bill people the full amount. Who knows how many people they are ripping off who don't bother to fight them on these fraudulent charges. Desired SettlementThey should take this charge ($978.84) off my bill completely.Business Response Claims to the patients account were submitted correctly, however, the insurance company asked for follow-up information that our billing department sent on more than one occasion. Statements on this account were on hold but unfortunately were released prior to the claims being properly adjudicated. The patient will be contacted and advised in detail regarding the status of the account. We are very willing to work with our patients to resolve any issues satisfactorily and appreciate feedback. Customer service is our #1 priority. Consumer Response I am still getting bills from them even though they are still negotiating with Insurance. The bill I just received today threatens to send the outstanding debt, which is the incorrect amount, to collection.Final Business Response Our billing department has reset statement billing to normal cycles and is only billing for co insurance assigned by the patients insurance company. A personal letter has been written to the patient with detailed explanations and assurance of our commitment to customer service to resolve this issue to the patients satisfaction. Business Response We have removed all charges insurance disallowed and are only billing what this patient's insurance company has assigned to him as co-insurance in the amount of $193.84.
