I purchased a one vanilla visa prepaid gift card on Thursday April 21stBefore I gave it to the recipient, I wanted to check the balance to make sure it was activated properlyThe automated system kept telling me that the card was invalidAfter waiting almost an hour to speak with a representative, I was told that the card had not been properly activated, and I would need to send a copy of the receipt and my photo IDThe young man told be that I would be able to use the card in days I emailed the information on Friday April 22nd and was told it would take hoursI called today Saturday April 23rd and was told that my documents were received it could take 3-business days!!! If my documents were received, why would it take 3-business days?? And the customer service agents had the nerve to have an attitude use typically customer service jargon to mask the fact that they were being rude! The first agent even snickered when I asked to speak to a supervisor, as if to say, "Well she's going to tell you the same thing I told you"! This is completely unacceptable
I purchased a Vanilla Sky card for my son for Christmas. He lost his wallet. He called customer service and they told him all he would need his a copy of driver's license and the receipt. My son was given a reference number. My son is a minor so I e-mailed all the information. I called a couple of days later and they said it would be sent out 48-72 hours. 14 days later I called. They said they would need a copy of an utility bill with my name on it. I do not have that they all have mu husbands on it. I had a 2013 W-2 with the same address and my driver's license. They said that was too old. 21 days later still no replacement card. Sent them a copy of mortgage interest statement today. I guaranteed I still will not have a replacement card in 48-72 hours.
