My name is [redacted], I am Casa Loma Colleges imaging programs director. I oversee the [redacted] and [redacted] program as discussed over the phone. I am extremely motivated towards our students success in their academics and future profession. To get them off on the right foot, I have a 2 week orientation into the programs. This is a mandatory part of the admissions process. I personally spend an entire day, as part of this orientation, on campus with the class reviewing policies and procedures the week before their official start. [redacted] and class thoroughly were informed of academic and attendance policies for both online (general education courses) and core campus curriculum. All core courses must be passed with a minimum of a 75%. All core courses are split between lab and lecture. Students receive a grade for lecture and lab, however, they are connected for the course. The student must pass both with a minimum of a 75% or they cannot progress in the program. This is a vocational program for a advanced healthcare profession. Sonographers are a huge part of the patients diagnosis, leaving us to be committed to ensure the students didactic and clinical success.

[redacted] was a Casa Loma College [redacted] Program student recently academic terminated. This means that she did not meet this minimum requirement in one of her core courses. In turn, per policy, she was academically terminated. All students are provided the option to request to re-enroll, although I have received zero communication from this student in regards to her termination, concerns nor return. In speaking to the Financial Aid department, due to her complaint, they shared that she has not responded to any of their communication attempts. Their paperwork says the student is withdrawn from the program, this is normal terminology for academically terminated students who are withdrawn from their active status. This complaint and feedback leaves me to believe this is more about her commitment to pay her agreed payments now that she is not in the program as an active student. Students during admissions and financial aid counseling are also informed that their payments and expenses are a commitment. A commitment they have for the courses taken whether passed or failed. Students commitment is just for the courses/semesters attended whether pass or fail. Her having a payment is based on that balance, not the entire program she has yet to attend.

Please let me know if there is any other information or assistance needed with this complaint.

Review: I was told that if I were to fail two classes I would be terminated from the program. I recently failed one class & they terminated me. I had not previously failed a class so I don't know how I was "terminated." They sent me paper work and in that paper work it says I "with drawled" when they were the ones who told me I was terminated & was no longer able to continue in the program.Desired Settlement: They sent me a letter telling me that I have a balance I have to pay them for attending, but I don't see how it's fair for me to have paid $164.00 every month just to attend and have them tell me that I still have to pay when they didn't do there job to teach the right material. I would like for you guys to inspect the school and find out more information.
