Complaint ID#: [redacted] Company Name: casale & associates auto body Company Contact: Giovanni Company Phone: C[redacted] Company Email: [redacted] Person Who Sent the Complaint: [redacted] Staff Member: [redacted] Response: To...

whom it may concern, Please read what [redacted] has admitted in his complaint - I'll be brief, but he admits that the car had a broken signal light on the Left side that was taped into place. [redacted] insists he had ZERO damage on the driver's side of the car, then states that the signal lamp was broken and taped in place. Some sort of impact broke that light. A prior impact that caused damage unrelated to the claim filed with [redacted]. We replaced what was covered by the insurance company ( Right side of the vehicle ) and when removing the bumper discovered the broken brackets on the left side of the car. This damage was obviously from a prior accident ( refer to [redacted]'s statement that there was no existing damage to the left side, but that he needed to tape the broken signal light to the car ) [redacted]'s sunroof was also in the open position ( Non-functioning ) - something I pointed out to him when he came to pick up his car. We did the work as outlined in the estimate provided to us via the customer prepared by [redacted] Insurance. We are not in the position of being able to repair prior damage unless the owner is willing to pay for those repairs. We gave [redacted] a price to replace the broken brackets on the Driver's side of the vehicle. He refused to pay any additional costs out of pocket. The owner of this shop then offered the lower price ( Which [redacted] stated ) - our cost of the parts needed to repair the prior existing damage. [redacted] refused. Owners often turn the blame onto the body shop when it's a matter of their policy limitations or unrelated prior damage. We extended the courtesy of concession pricing on the needed parts to our cost. No labor, just the cost of parts plus tax. I'd also like to point out that installing those parts requires the removal of the front bumper, removal of the broken existing brackets, and installation of the new brackets and reinstallation of the front bumper. There is nothing else to this complaint except the fact that [redacted] does not want to incur any cost at all. Our offer of $200.00 + tax to perform the work outlined above is still available to [redacted]. We will extend that offer for 30 days - September 29th, 2017. After that date, the concession pricing is no longer valid. Thank you, Scottie M[redacted] Floor Manager Casale Auto Body ###-###-####

The business response is filled with untruth statements, for example: -I never stated that the airbags had initially deployed “for no reason” – what I stated was that the hit was so minor, that it shouldn’t have triggered the airbags. The business expressed that they agreed with that fact in multiple conversations with both me and my boyfriend. -There were no SRS warning lights after the collision. I rolled up the airbags and drove off because a police officer who stopped by the location encouraged me to do so, and told me that if the car was running there was no need to call a tow truck. -The referred “dent in the hood” was unrelated to the accident. -The shop did not reach out to me with regular updates on my car, I was the one initiating every contact, and to this day, if I don’t follow-up I don’t hear from them. Even when I initiated contact, several times they promised to call me back and failed to do so. That’s why my boyfriend eventually visited them in person to get a detailed walk-through of the services performed, after the car had been in their shop for over 7 weeks total. The lack of regular updates is my main complaint about the shop. -I had not driven 70 miles away from the shop when the car had the engine failure, it was 50 miles max. The problem was NOT “surely telegraphed” to me before the vehicle stopped running, the ONLY indication I had was low power warning. I did NOT, as stated by the business, “chose to continue to drive after the vehicle warning lights read that there were problems with the motor”. I pulled over and called a tow truck as soon as that happened. Having said all that, I am tired of the “he said, she said” back and forth, and no longer want to dispute their statements. All I expect at this point is: 1-      The complete rebuild of the engine according to factory specifications; 2-      The delivery of the car in a prompt manner at my home address in [redacted] 3-      The reimbursement of the rental cars which I have picked up in NYC in two occasions ($601.64 from 7/29-8/1; and $619.47 from 8/06-8/08); and 4-      The reimbursement of the tow truck fee ($225 on 6/24).   Thanks [redacted]

airbags had deployed and that she had no idea why. Let me repeat that fac[redacted]es stated originally that the airbags just deployed with no reason...that she had hit nothing. In [redacted] complaint she states that she had a minor impact to the front of her vehicle. She also states that she was able to roll up the airbags and drive off with no warning lights and no issues. Anyone who deals with major or minor impacts of a modern airbag ( SRS ) equipped vehicle understands that's just not possible. Once an airbag is deployed it must be replaced and the SRS warning lights must be cleared. Ms. [redacted] brought her car to our shop with very minor "VISIBLE" damage ( we have pictures of the vehicle in total, from every angle when it was brought in for repairs.) Only Ms. [redacted]s knows what really happened to deploy the airbags on her vehicle, seeing only minor damage to the car both from above and below we felt the need to tear down the front end of the vehicle ( pictures again are available upon request ). We found a small dent in the hood and a broken Radiator support. The only way to address a vehicle in this condition is search out and diagnose where the problem originated.  [redacted]s' boyfriend visited the shop and he was given a full accounting of all work done to the car, shown all photos and all parts replaced and the cost of those procedures. Airbags, seat belts and buckles were all replaced. Damage to the hood was repaired, bumper cover replaced, logos, wheel arch and a small dent on the opposite side from the damage was repaired gratis. That body work was completed on top of all the other airbag and mechanical work involved.  All other collision related damage was repaired according to the estimate and subsequent supplements. I also communicate with Ms. Nunes as updates become available.  Ms. [redacted] vehicle was assembled, safety checked and road tested. All airbag and related codes were cleared. Ms. [redacted] picked up her vehicle and had some sort of mechanical problem 70 miles away from the shop, the problem was surely telegraphed to Ms. Nunes before the vehicle stopped running, not just by a low power warning. That Ms. [redacted]s chose to continue to drive after the vehicle warning lights read that there were problems with the motor was an unfortunate decision on Ms. [redacted] behalf.  The rebuilding of Ms. [redacted] motor to bring it back to factory specifications is being performed and completed by Casale Auto Body. We are not looking to the insurance company for related damage, we have assumed all costs associated with the rebuilding of the engine. There are several things that may have cause the engine failure, in the end it was determined that a seized oil pump was to blame. There may have been a pinhole in one of the radiator lines, a faulty clamp, we are not sure. We are taking all necessary steps to get Ms. [redacted] on the road as soon as possible.  We have offered a rental car from Norwalk or reimbursement to Ms. [redacted]n the form of a check if she choses to rent a vehicle in the city when she picks up her vehicle. To this point she has elected not to rent a car.  This is the second response I'm filing through the Revdex.com online system, We stand ready to send or post all photos of the repair cycle of this vehicle at Casale's. We can be reached at the number above.   Regards, [redacted]Body Shop ManagerCasale Auto BodyNorwalk, CT 06855
