To Whom It May Concern:This letter is in response to Revdex.com Complaint ID: [redacted] The complainant, [redacted] of [redacted] **, Issaquah, WA 98029, was seen by a provider at Cascade Integrative Medicine on 2/9/and 3/7/? She was emailed a copy of her patient account balance on 8/1/detailing her outstanding charges, which totaled $for one visit that was covered in full by her insurance carrier but was applied toward her deductible per her contract with her insurance provider, Regence? We do acknowledge that, in this particular case, the time required to provide this patient a statement was excessively long and does neither represent the time that is typical for our practice to provide a statement to a patient, nor is an acceptable period of time in which to do so? We have worked with two external billing agencies over the last year? In both cases, the quality of services rendered did not consistently meet our standards, and as a result, we have had to change billing companies? This is not uncommon in medical practices that outsource their medical billing servicesHowever, medical billing is now an internal activity, and patients are provided with account statements week after their claim has completed adjudication by the insurance carrier? The internalization of medical billing services occurred on 6/1/We have been working aggressively to work backwards in time to reconcile claims for patient visits that occurred after 1/1/but prior to this transition (6/1/16) to make sure that patients that were seen at Cascade Integrative Medicine after 1/1/receive a summary of their account balance in a timely manner? We will be writing off all outstanding balances for patient visits that pre-date 1/1/16; those patients will owe nothing.? I have attached several emails between our practice (including myself and Anita, our office manager) and [redacted] that occurred on the date that the complainant submitted her complaint to the Revdex.com? Hopefully, these emails help to illustrate that, despite the unacceptable delay in providing the complainant a statement, we have tried to handle this matter professionally and in a way that will resolve the complainant’s issues.Should you require additional information regarding this case, please don’t hesitate to ask.Sincerely,OJameel S***, Vice PresidentCascade Integrative Medicine
