Cascade Landscaping and Tree Removal Reviews (4)

Review: I purchased 60 Green Emerald Arborvitae's on 09/22/14. When they arrived, they looked in very poor condition. Since this was my first tree purchase ever, I believed the owner when he told me that they were just "shedding." Most of the trees had dead branches and no foliage on the bottom and much dead foliage throughout (I took pictures).Since the original purchase, I have looked at many arborvitaes and the way that my arrived is not indicative of a well cared for and healthy tree. I asked the owner of Cascade on three different occasions where the trees came from and I was told three different stories, the last one probably true. I went to see the tree farm that he said the trees were purchased from on the third occasion and they clearly are not taken care of. Almost one year later, an enormous amount of time, money, water and fertilizer, the trees look better but are not in the shape that I was promised they would be. I contacted Keith on several different occasions and originally he said he would replace 60 trees. On his last message, he said he would replace 10 and put them in a different location. I reluctantly left him a message that I would accept his offer (even though I thought it should definitely be more than 10 trees) if he would put it in writing as the one year warranty is ending tomorrow on 9/22/15. I have not heard from him since then.Desired Settlement: More trees that are healthy and have foliage from top to bottom and or a refund of some of the monies.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint - I am sorry I was not able to respond sooner. I have spoken to this customer several times since last Spring and have gone to her home twice to look at the trees - as of early September, none of them were dead or dying. Some of them are a little sparse at the very bottom (8 inches on 7-foot trees) due to lack of rain and possibly combined with lack of adequate watering/fertilizing. Otherwise they are green and healthy other than normal Fall shedding. I take no deposits and accept no payment until the job is complete and the customer is satisfied, and I was paid in full upon completion of this job.

Review: Cascade Landscaping planted Arborvitaes for me last fall and guaranteed them. I contacted [redacted] in the late fall to advise that one of the Arborvitaes was dying and two were slightly discolored. He said they go dormant in the fall and it's nothing to worry about. I contacted him in the spring to tell him that the Arborvitae died and the other two in question appeared to be dying as well. He said give them plenty of water and if they die, he would honor the warranty and replace all three. I now have 3 dead Arborvitaes and [redacted] will not return my phone calls. I have been calling him approximately twice per week since early June. It is July 24th as I write this.

Desired Settlement: I need the dead Arborvitaes removed, perhaps a better hole dug this time, and then new ones planted in their place.

Mr. [redacted]'s description of what has taken place is mainly correct, except that he did not advise me that the trees in question had died until I spoke with him on July 30. When we looked at the trees in June, they were still alive. As Mr. [redacted] wrote, I assured him at the time that I would replace the trees if they died. When I last spoke with him on July 30, I told him that as soon as more trees are dug in early September, I will replace all that have died, as I do with all of my customers. I am sure that you will hear from him in a month or so that the trees have been replaced and he is satisfied. Mr. [redacted] is a good man and a valued customer.

Review: purchased 8 [redacted] trees last April 2014 and he planted them on May 14,2015. They did well over the

winter. I called and left a message with him, no response. I sent a comment to him on his web page,

no response. I simply asked him to call so he could come out to advise me as to how to handle a couple

of the trees have dead around the base. I want these trees to enter into Spring and Summer in good

condition. He does not call back and I don't know how to handle this problem.Desired Settlement: Advise me on how to keep these 8 trees in good condition. Maybe the 3 trees with dead around the

base need to be replaced or just some other solution.

I do not know how to get into a site to tell you that the company has contacted me and everything is ok. Please update to show he is a good company. I tried to call to get your e-mail address but could not understand the lady due to my hard of hearing. Please contact me if I need to use another site to report that the problem has been fixed. Thank you.

Review: Purchased 10 arborvitaes from [redacted] @ Cascade Landscaping July 24 2014. We followed the watering instruction which he inculded on the purchase order (3 times weekly until the ground freezes). As the season turned to fall we noticed 5 of the 10 trees were almost totally brown. The other 5 trees had some brown spots which seemed normal and for the most part they seemed to be in good shape. On November 5th 2014 I contacted [redacted] at Cascade and told him about the trees and he said he would replace them by Thanksgiving. That did not happen and since winter was approaching I figured I would wait until spring to contact [redacted] again. I called [redacted] May 1st 2015 and was told that it was unusual that 1/2 of the trees would be dead but he said he would replace them in 2 weeks. Again Cascade did not show up with the trees. May 15th 2015 I left a voicemail for a status update and [redacted] returned the call 5/20/2015 and told me that he would have the trees out by May 29th 2015. To date we have not received the trees which Cascade Landscape guaranteed in writing. Left another voicemail June 3rd 2015 and again June 8th 2015. No response to date...Desired Settlement: Simply replace the trees that are dead

From: [redacted] - [redacted] Sent: Friday, June 12, 2015 4:36 PM To: [redacted] Subject: Update My issue has been resolved by the business owner to my satisfaction. I would like to add a note to the file that Cascade Landscaping replaced the trees and they now look fantastic. The whole issue may have simply been a lack of communication. In the end [redacted] from Cascade is a man of his word and followed through. After this experience I am not at all hesitant to call them for future needs. Case number [redacted]
