When we recieved an ETA from Mercury on the motor he had ordered, we contacted Mr*** to arrange an install As he was traveling a little bit to get here, he expressed that he would like to have the install completed on the same day of his coming to the shop This is not always
possible, as every boat is unique and each install can present unique challenges We advised Mr*** that in order for us to be able to do this, we would need to him to arrive as soon as possible on the day of install We were able to get the motor installed on the same day, even though we had the unexpected complication of the jet pump for the outboard arriving in a separate box, rather than on the motor as we expected When the install was completed, we took Mr*** to the river and ran the new motor with him, everything worked perfectly When he contacted us to tell us he was having problems, we suggested he bring the boat back here so we could solve the issues he was having, and we are more than willing to do this

We Spoke specifically about what he was going to do and what the cost would bePeriodOn his notes to "fix the trim" which were written by him aside from what he told meWe spoke face to face and again, specifically about what was going to be done and what it would costNormally this repair may not be a big issue but had I known the true cost and repair I would have waited until next season to address it as we are in the middle of a home purchaseRegardless, it's my boat, my money and my decision, how can it be legal to make unauthorized repairs at costs unknown to the customer?! On top of that I was told a next day repair, not only did he not deliver, but he failed to call to let me know it would take longer and cost more? Then I called him to get an update and he said he was busy but would call right back?! This did not happen and days later I get the call that he fixed something else and I owed him $and also something else was broken on my boat now! So as a consumer I gave him chances to fill me in and tell me what was happening and he failed to communicate! Then feels it's business to do what he did?! No way this is ok, I reject his response whole heartedly and believe he needs to reimburse me the difference in repairs.Sincerely,*** ***

Mr *** came in to the store for a simple dewinterize. He also said the trim is not working. We dewinterized the boat for free and looked at the trim. percent of the time, It’s the selinoids. However in his rare case the trim motor was out. We replaced
the trim motor and it works fine now. The cost was a little more but in the middle of summer there is not enough time to call every customer about every detail. We do what is reasonable and prudent to the common person. Any other customer would have said just fix it. The boat was in here for repair. On the work order was a notation , Just make trim work. Mr *** saw this wrote on the work order. We fixed the trim. Were happy it was not an entire unit which are over dollars. As suchThe repair order stands

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Those cables you told me came off a demo boat which in return where used cables, and also not the right length. You think I am that stupid of a customer that I don't know the difference between new and used???? Never seen new cables old dried up grease on them, scuffed up all over....You might think they are new but they are far from that..Original cables you ordered where for a 20' boat. And these cables that are on there are still to long. (Showed different marine mechanic, and that is what he stated). Again if you can order the proper cables, which is what I was paying you for, and ship them I will take care of the rest. I am very unhappy with this whole situation, but I am not just going to give up an walk away. I have nothing but time on my end until things are made right. Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Nothing was done right. Stated to Ken it would take 3 hrs to get there (6hrs round trip). So he insisted that I get there at 8am so that way they can get everything done. He also stated it was only going to take 4-5hrs to install motor and cables. Was overcharged to install pump (lower unit). I contacted Mercury and they stated they never ship the motor with the pump attached, and that it is always separate. Also Mercury stated it should of only taken an hour to install. Also my inspection sheet was never filled out for when the motor arrived . So Ken what did you inspect when you put this motor on then, because you where up front most of the day helping other customers. Also I was over charged for install of the pump because you didn't know what you where doing. Also I was overcharged for the used cables that are on my boat still. And why would I want to drive 6hrs to come do there to a shady, dishonest shop when you had the boat there 8hrs and should of done everything right the first time. Oh yeah and you stated to me the last conversation that "you where rushed for time"...I had everything prepped and ready for the install, which should of shaved off a lot of time. I will not come back down to your dirt hole shop. I wont waste anymore time with a lying mechanic as your self. And I will never trust you again. I even gave them the spec of my boat 1999 Wooldridge 17.5ft Alaskan, which if they looked up Wooldridge it would of gave them the specs on what to order, but I guess that was to hard to do.....Nothing about this shop is right.....I am very pissed off, and this is far from over with.....Sincerely,[redacted]
