We are sorry for the confusion in this matter and for any
inconvenience created for [redacted]. The
letter attached to [redacted]'s complaint explains our process for paying of the
tax bill. It is apparent that he signed
the document without totally understanding the
reasoning for the charges. We do not agree with his opinion of these
fees as being hidden or unnecessary. The
process is more involved than just cutting a check and we feel the service fee
is nominal for the efforts our employees take to ensure the tax bill is paid
accurately and timely.
Having said this, as a sign of our willingness to make sure
the closing process is painless for all, we are willing to refund his $25. We understand the confusion that can take
place during a mortgage closing, especially amid the myriad of documents that
need to be signed by the borrowers. Our
senior management team is available to anyone if they feel they have been dealt
with unfairly or just need further explanation of our policies
