Blow Bros was called to go out and pump out a septic system on April 17, 2015, we went out and cleaned out the system without any issues on April 21, Three months later the alarm started to sound indicating that something was wrong with the septic pump and the customer called us to come
out and check out the system to determine what was wrong This was called in as an emergency pump out to avoid the septic backing up This call came in on July 9, and we went out that same day When we arrived the driver determined that the pumping station, which is in a separate tank, was over 3’ deep The customer was contacted and it was explained to them that there is no way for us to access the pump station to see what was wrong but we were able to determine that the pump was not functioning We pumped out the septic tank again so they had room to continue to use the water in the house without backing up After almost a month we were contacted to come out because they got the station opened, if they had opened it sooner the tank would not have filled up again We went back out to the home and were able to determine that the pump was working fine but that the float that tells the pump to turn on and off was not functioning and would need to be replaced, and we also recommended that the electrical junction box be replaced We let them know that they needed to contact an electrician to come out and do the electrical work that was required as we are not electricians. When the customer called to complain about the fact that they had to pay for the pumping I explained to her why they were charged this amount The first pumping was routine maintenance and had nothing to do with the issues they were having The second time out there would have been sufficient if they had gotten us access to the pump station before the tank was filled up again The only reason that they were charged the last time we went out was because we had to pump it again and I needed to pay the disposal of the septic
