I had an old car that needed to have the transmission replaced and decided to junk it insteadOutside of the transmission the car was in great shape, no body damage or rust and brand new tiresI called different organizations for a quote and cash for junk cars - Chicago gave me the highest offer for my vehicleWhen the driver showed up the next day the only issue he found was the catalytic converter had been replacedThe car is years old and I am not a mechanic so I can't confirm if this is even trueHe told me he had to knock $off of the quote I was givenI told him that this was bait & switch and after negotiation got him down to a $reductionNormally I would have told him to take a hike but I was in a hurry to get the car removedThe driver was very professional & courteous and removed the car quickly and without issueI had no problem with his performanceI called the owner and complained and he said there was nothing he could do because of the catalytic converter and because he mistakenly wrote down *** *** instead of *** ***He told me he wasn't in the business of trying to beat people like me out of $and that he transacts millions of dollars of business annuallyHe still wouldn't give me the $but was willing to send me the report on the converter to prove his pointA good use for the extra money they generate with the catalytic converter scam is to put a quote generation form on their website, like all of their competitors, so there would be no "mistake" about the model of the carThey also should remove the "no hidden fees" language from their website because that is a lie or at least say the quote given over the phone might not match with what you will actually receiveI will never use this service ever again
