Review: I recently bought a piece of musical equipment from the shop. I could have gotten the same thing from guitar center for the same price but was trying to feed the local economy. The 1st fader showed slight signs of damage being that the metal was bent but the unit itself could have still functioned perfectly fine but there was no way to test it without having a laptop on hand. I pointed out that there might be an issue with the fader but in good faith would take it home and test it out. If it 'worked' I'd have no problem with the cosmetic issue of a crooked fader but if it was broken I was bringing it back. The clerk proceeded to lecture me on how 'kids' tend to buy these video games and play them over the weekend only to return them the next week. Great speech except I'm not a child and this isn't a video game. It's an audio production tool and without the 1st fader it's pretty much useless. Needless to say, I got home and since I'm remodeling my home I was unable to set up the studio so didn't even plug it in for a few days. That's when I learned it was broken and had to work over the next few days so I couldn't rush right in to return the unit. Today I take it in they tell me I had it too long and they will give me a store credit but not my cash money back. I'm sorry but I don't want a gun or any gawdy fake gold jewelry. All I want is an Akai APC 40 that functions properly. I'm real sorry you guys got hosed bysome crack head pawning it to you but I'm not in a position to get hosed on almost $200 when I told you I was coming back if it didn't work. I was going to buy another piece of gear they had there but I'm pretty sure I'll never be back and will be going out of my way to make sure my fellow musicians shop elsewhere.Desired Settlement: I just want my $ back.
Business
Response:
See attched documentation.
Revdex.com spoke to the business and the business stated that the item was brought in almost a month after purchase. There are signs in the store and all the receipts that all sales are final. The business offered the customer store credit, or 1/2 of his money refunded but business stated the customer refused those offers.
