Caskey Cleaning

On 05/21/18, I dropped off a Pacific Coast california king feather bed mattress topper to have cleaned. I was promised completion by 06/04/18. I go in to pick it up on 06/26/18 and they cannot find it. The manager was to call me back the following day to let me know what was going on with it. I took it upon myself to call shortly after they opened. The call was made on 06/27/18. I spoke with a lady who in turn, spoke with the plant manager, who stated it had not been cleaned at all. When I asked why, she said the plant manager was leary of cleaning it because there is a possibility that when it is wet, the seams could bust and if it is not dried completely, there will be a bad odor. So, I went to pick it up later than evening. I was absolutely disgusted. It was in worse condition than when I initially brought it in. There was so much gray dirt and grime on it that it looked like it had been laying on the dirty concrete floor. When we brought it in, it was in a plastic bag. They didn't even have the decency to fold it up and put it in a plastic bag to return it to us. It was thrown in a dirty laundry cart and wheeled out to us in a big, messy ball. Now I have no idea what to do. I feel like this feather bed is completely ruined. I called back 06/28/18 and spoke with the plant manager, Mike. He offered no replacement for me and stated that he could clean it, but it is at my own risk. He stated that when it is wet, if the seams bust, then they have feathers all in their drains and it can cost them upwards of $250 to repair. I explained this was a gift and that it is essentially ruined now and that if it cannot be cleaned what recourse do I have through Caskey. He avoided the question by telling me that I should call other cleaners to see if they can clean it. I explained to him and was in tears at this point, that I feel horrible that this gift given to me is now ruined and I stated I researched the brand name from the tag on the feather bed and this cost $220.00. No offer to replace it. I was just given another apology. I have used Caskey for years and had many articles of clothing altered by Miss B. and used dry cleaning services. They have always been my choice and now I am in such disbelief that this has happened. I am so disappointed and need something to be done to restore my faith in this company.
