Review: Cassidy plumbing installed a new boiler for my single pipe steam system in my house. We had a contract for the work of the install. They removed the old boiler by initially removing the asbestos off the old boiler and then breaking up and removing the boiler underneath. They then installed a new boiler all over the course of 4 days the week of the [redacted] of January this year. After the install my pipes in my house made loud banging noises reverberating through my home and hot water was shooting out of multiple radiators. The first radiator that had hot water coming out was in my dining room and when Cassidy Plumbing came to inspect it they said that the water was coming out due to the radiator not being pitched properly. They said it had nothing to do with the install of the new boiler. They wanted to charge me $425 for the work to repitch the radiator. They came out and did the work. That night when I put the heat back on as it had been off and I had space heaters in the house so the pipes would not freeze prior to this another radiator leaked. In my daughters room hot water and steam started shooting out burning my wife and almost burning my infant child who was 1 year old crawling around on the floor. When I called Cassidy and expressed my concerns that this was negligence with the install because in the 3.5 years of me living in the home I had never had this occur he vehemently denied this and said there was only 1lb of pressure on the system so there's no way that this could be do to their work. He refused to come back out and fix the issue stating that I should go get another plumber to look at it as they would confirm that the work was done correctly. I then got another plumber to come in and what they discovered were errors in the install. They discovered that the boiler was not rated at 1psi as Cassidy had specified but actually at 8psi which was way too high for the system. They changed that. They also noticed that the tank was overfilled with water as the glass gauge on the front could clearly show. They then drained the water out twice to flush out the system as there were also concerns if the the tank had properly been skimmed with the install which they specified should be done when you are using the black pipes that Cassidy had used. After draining the system, readjusting the water level, and readjusting the psi on the boiler no issues occured with the heat and the heating system worked properly as it should have. It is clear now that the issues with the steam heat system were not pitch related, radiator related, valve related, or pipe freezing related as [redacted] mentioned they all could be. The issues were strictly due to an improper installation of the boiler and therefore I should not be charged an additional $425 for labor that should have not needed to occur if the install had been done properly.Desired Settlement: I would like an email stating that the above charges for additional labor will not be pursued and therefore no additional money is owed by myself as it is clearly an error due to the plumbing company with the install.
