Hired to tile and paint a bedroom and remove and replace a single tile in another room.
***, Salesman did a fine job but throughout the process had poor communication. Gave us a time to show up and would be off by hours... stated when I gave them the job that I was a stickler for being on time. He was pulled in many directions. more the fault on office than ***.
The tile work was uneventful Nice job... The painters were sloppy and seemed not to care, did not have drop cloths or ladders which were needed. Initial painters who removed the single tile in another room did not use a vacuum to collect dust as they cut the tile... What a mess throughout the entire house one end to the other. We spent several days cleaning and washing everything - asked for compensation but given none.
Bathroom-My wife asked the painter to paint the bathroom... The painter said to call *** and get approval. I called but could not get through or leave a message. Painter said he would call, never did. I saw him painting the bathroom so I am assuming he got approval but he did not,nor did he speak to me or my wife. They left when he thought he was finished without ever speaking to anyone I was charged $200. for a job that took less than an hour and I supplied the paint and never approved the painting of the bathroom. Did not think I should have to pay. *** brought over his supervisor who said " Glad you hired us because we stand behind our work and would sent a team over in the morning to clean" no one showed up until *** came around 2 pm to remove the splatter and paint the closet. *** did not show up until 2 days later after I called the company and told them I was taking $280.00 for cleaning...
The Painter was the problem and he works for Castillo's Design which made this
an unpleasant experience. per the Supervisor "would take care of " but nothing was taken care of for the mess they made.. I am happy that the bathroom was painted but I would have never approved $200. for doing it and was never advised until after I stated I would remove $280. for cleaning which is the price I paid to have my house cleaned the day before they cut the tile.
The tile installer who cut tile to install thresholds used a vacuum and made no mess at all. He should have removed and installed the tile in the other room and not the painter. left a sour taste in my mouth that for less the an hour of work they charged me $200. which cost them nothing and told me they do not clean up after the supervisor stated he would send a team to clean.
Castillo Design took no responsibility for there sub-contractor's mess and gave no compensation...
I would not hire this company again because they did not stand behind there word.
