Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Please let it be known that there are a hundred ways this could have been handled better From actually coordinating visits to my house (which never happened I would come home from work to find evidence of them at my house during the day) to the owner, who lives on the same street as I do, could have stopped to make sure things were being handled satisfactorily The fact that I was not treated as a priority is troubling I was told by everyone I asked for an asphalt opinion to stay away from Castle AsphaltHindsight would show that I should have listened. While this complaint will be marked 'closed' and there is apparently an offer of free sealing (something that they didn't feel the need to disclose to me for whatever reason), let's just say the workmanship leaves something to be desired No one will be impressed by the work done here It looks half-*** And if I have to tell one ounce of the story that got me this far, it will surely not result in any future business and I will look like the fool for making such poor decisions. So, despite the ridiculous effort I had to go through just to get this far (call after call; text messages; a knock on the front door of the owner; and even a Facebook message to his wife!) we'll leave this case closed because I don't have the energy to take it any further Regards, [redacted]

We re-paved in front of garage to stop water from entering, plus we will seal drive for free next year for his inconvienance

to me.  Please let it be known that there are a hundred ways this could have been handled better.  From actually coordinating visits to my house (which never happened.  I would come home from work to find evidence of them at my house during the day) to the owner, who lives on the same street as I do, could have stopped to make sure things were being handled satisfactorily.  The fact that I was not treated as a priority is troubling.  I was told by everyone I asked for an asphalt opinion to stay away from Castle Asphalt. Hindsight would show that I should have listened. While this complaint will be marked 'closed' and there is apparently an offer of free sealing (something that they didn't feel the need to disclose to me for whatever reason), let's just say the workmanship leaves something to be desired.  No one will be impressed by the work done here.  It looks half-[redacted].  And if I have to tell one ounce of the story that got me this far, it will surely not result in any future business and I will look like the fool for making such poor decisions. So, despite the ridiculous effort I had to go through just to get this far (call after call; text messages; a knock on the front door of the owner; and even a Facebook message to his wife!) we'll leave this case closed because I don't have the energy to take it any further.

Review: We had our driveway resurfaced by [redacted] . with Castle Asphalt on June 6th 2014. In addition to the resurfacing we had them expand the driveway. Since they were here excavating we paid them an additional $650 to excavate an area that we would install a patio. Before the job was even started I expressed my concern with straight edges, [redacted] said we string the edges to get a straight edge. The day of the job started off bad from the start when the construction trucks pulled down a cable wire and at the end left the street a mess. Upon completing the job we were told not to walk on it until it cools. After they were paid in full and long gone is when we walked the driveway and noticed how uneven the edges were and how the additional excavated area is nowhere near deep enough to install a patio. In addition to that, the driveway appeared very uneven and there was dirt rolled into the new asphalt and is a huge eye sore. I contacted [redacted] immediately, he returned to our home and agreed that the edges did not look good. I also told him about the excavated area is not deep enough for the patio. [redacted] said he would fix it when they were in the area. It is now July 10, 2014, I have contacted [redacted] numerous times to schedule them to come out, he was scheduled to come out June 30th 2014 and never showed. During this whole fiasco, I was 9 months pregnant and had a new baby. I don't want to waste anymore time having to contact [redacted] with Castle Asphalt.Desired Settlement: I would like the uneven edges fixed and finish the digging that we have already paid for. If it is not finished in a timely manner I would like to be reimbursed for the expense I would have to pay another company to fix the job.

Response:

We returned to the site and fixed the product issues that this customer had in July of 2014. We repaired the uneven edges that she was complaining about and she was satisfied.

Review: In 2015 I had my driveway done with Castle and everything went very good. They showed up when they stated that they would. They were responsive to calls, everything. In 2016 I had a garage built and needed a smaller area added to the already existing driveway so I contacted Castle since they did the original job. Fred the estimator came out and gave me a quote of $1800 as it was a small section that needed done. He stated it would be done the following Friday. That day came and went with no call and no show from Castle. I called and was told it would not be 2 weeks later. Again I waited and 2 weeks went with no call and again no show. I followed up a third call and was told they would be doing the house down the road from me in the next week and will do mine at the same time since it was a smaller job. On that day I noticed that the trucks were passing my house. I again called Fred and was told that "something broke down" and they would have to get mine when they come back to finish the other job. However, when I drove down the street later that week I noticed that the other job was 100% complete and did not require any more work. I called Fred multiple times over the next month with no returned or answered calls. At that point I called the Company directly and left a message that I wanted someone other than Fred to return my call as I felt I was not being taken care of as a customer. I received a call from a man that stated he was "part owner" explained everything to him and he said he would talk to Fred and get back to me. 2 weeks later still no response I have to call back again and am told they are busy and I will probably not get mine done. He also stated that the $1800 quote was below the minimum that they have set and he was not sure why Fred would quote that amount (mind you others were at my residence and present during the meeting with Fred). I told him that was a horrible way to conduct business which he agreed with and continued to blame Fred for the issue and told me to let me see what he can do. No less than 20 min later I finally receive a call from Fred who tells me "your driveway is not getting done this year ok" of course it was not ok as I now have a garage I cannot use and other asphalt companies say they can do it but I have to pay additional this time of the year to get fit in or wait until next year.Desired Settlement: To begin I would just like everyone to know to be extremely cautious when using this company as they are very attentive when they think they are getting lots from you and could care less once they are done. I would like $1800 as this is what my quote was to have my driveway done to put towards paying another company a premium rate to try to fit me in before the weather turns cold. I have no interest in having this company back to my residence after the way we were treated.
