In response to complaint received on 12/14/17:We were contacted by the customer on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in regards to a vehicle listed on a dealer to dealer auction website. Customer requested we send more pictures of the vehicle, which we did. On Thursday, December 7, 2017,
the customer made an offer on the vehicle. The customer was informed the vehicle was still listed on the dealer to dealer website, and they can make the offer and purchase the vehicle through the auction website. They declined doing it this way and stated they would overnight the check to us. We contacted the customer on Friday, December 8, 2017, asking if they are still interested in purchasing the vehicle since no check was received. Informed the customer the vehicle remains on the dealer to dealer auction site and has generated inquiries. On December 9, we sent the customer a Bill of Sale requesting the customer to sign and a check to be sent overnight. Once we received the funds and the signed Bill of Sale we would in turn overnight them the title. As of Monday, December 11, no funds have been received for the vehicle in question. We contacted them again and they stated they were unable to overnight the funds and they would wire the funds to us. The vehicle remained on the dealer to dealer auction site due to no confirmed funds for proof of purchase. The vehicle sold through the dealer to dealer auction site on the morning of Tuesday, December 12, through a buy it now option. Later that day we received notice of the wire transfer from the customer. We contacted the customer on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and informed them the vehicle had sold via the online dealer to dealer website, and we would send the wire transfer funds back (which we did). The transport company did contact us on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, and we informed them the deal was not consummated and transportation was not needed. At no time did we schedule a vehicle pick up with the transport company. Customer had every opportunity to purchase the vehicle via the dealer to dealer website, the customer declined this option electing to avoid auction fees. By doing it this way, the vehicle remained on the site for sale for an additional week after first contact with the customer while we waited for confirmed funds from the customer to purchase the vehicle. Review: I bought a 2007 Toyota Tacoma through Castle car company. Matt C[redacted] was my sale person, and he indicated that the vehicle had a little surface rust, and there was no cancer rust on this vehicle. I asked him to take some pictures of the undercarriage and I noticed that the frame had under coating. I asked Matt if the under coating was from the factory and he indicated that it was a factory under coating. I had the vehicle shipped and when I received the truck the under coating had just been applied, covering a very rusted frame. I reached and touched the frame and layers of rust just fell off the frame. The under coat was sprayed all over the under section of the truck. I opened the hood and I could see that they had painted over cancer rust with white paint. same with the tail gate it was covered in cancer and touch up hiding it.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund or have the Castle company pay for the repairs the the truck.
