Castle Closet LTD.

Review: I hired Castle Closet to install custom closets in my newly purchased home. Upon my initial inspection of the work performed, I noted that both the design and the quality of the installation was flawed. I immediately contacted Castle Closet, and we agreed that I would pay my balance in full, and in exchange, Castle Closet would perform a number of repairs. I immediatley wrote out a check to Castle Closet for the remaining balance, and Castle Closet promised to have my closets completed within the following week or two. That was in February/March 2013. The repairs have not yet been completed. I have made repeated attempts over the past 8 months at contacting Castle Closet for resolution. The few times Castle Closet has responded to my numerous communications, they give me a date that they will come to my home to complete the job, and then they dont show up. The one or two times Castle Closet has stopped by, they did not complete the agreed upon work. My test messages (their prefered form of communication) are ignored; my emails are not responded to; and my phone calls are not returned.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the remaining open items: two sets of drawers in the master closet ($700); Blue room closet ($500) and linen closet ($410); total $1,610.

Response:

All additional work done for the [redacted] were chargeable changes, not incomplete work. After the closets were installed I went to pick up the final payment.

Every closet was done to the specs that were on the detailed plans and signed contract. The [redacted] were unhappy with the depth of a few closets.

At this point I showed them the depth clearly written on the plans they had signed off on . It didn’t matter to them so they asked me to take money off the balance due

or change the depth of the closets . I told them I couldn’t make any changes until I was paid in full. I first asked that they pay just for the material

cost to make the changes explaining to them that these are custom closets cut to specific sizes so the material I was removing was not usable.

This didn’t matter to them. They wanted all work done for free. I agreed to do 2 closets for free which I did in good faith. They then gave me a laundry list of

Unreasonable requests for changes in other closets. Things I haven’t done in 27 years of business. When I said this was enough I was sent a

Cyber Bullying text that said “Unless you finish the Items I sent I will report you to the Revdex.com, [redacted] and any other social media sight

Out there” The next day I went and finished ALL items trying to avoid losing the good reputation I worked 27 years at building. Her final text to me

was to thank me for finishing the remaining items. In all the [redacted] got $ 1500 in chargeable changes and I now have a damaged reputation

for trying to continue to be good to all my customers. I just hope this is not a lesson she is teaching her children that being a Bully works.

Review: We had a closet installed by this company, all was well until we needed an additional shelf. My wife has been calling and was in touch with both [redacted] and [redacted] on numerous occasions. They say they are mailing , dropping it off, etc. We've been chasing them now for approximately one month, and now they don't even return calls.Desired Settlement: Deliver a matching shelf as promised.
