Cataldos Pizzeria Reviews (2)

I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Bertha Bejarano,
I am not satisfied with Cataldo’s response it is not
completely truthful. [redacted] stated a woman (my mom) walked in and ordered. My
mom never walked in and placed an order.  On August 8, 2017 at 8:22pm I, [redacted]
called in the order to Cataldos.  At 8:48pm
I called back because my mother could not enter because their doors were locked
(early).  [redacted] stated that a woman
called wanting her money back and “she could bring her order back the next
morning, she was fine with that”. At 9:24pm I, [redacted] called Cataldo’s
because the food was not satisfactory and I spoke with [redacted] said,
“What do you want me to do about it?” I replied, “You tell me you’re the business
man, what do you do in this type of situation.” He then offered to give us a 6
piece or a medium pizza the next day. Then my husband got on the phone and the
end of the conversation was that we wanted our money back. [redacted] told my
husband (not a woman) to take the food back the next day, and he would refund
the money. My husband and I took the food back immediately, because we did not
want to have a problem returning it the next day. We did not bang on their door
we knocked. They saw us through the window his daughter and a gentleman opened
the door. She was very rude and appeared offended  that I felt the chicken wasn’t satisfactory
because I stated that it looked like it was cooked in old oil and overcooked.  [redacted] states who would take a bite of 1 piece
of chicken and decide it’s dry. No one took any bites. I tore 1 piece off a
little to open but it was still attached. Even if we did take a bite and decide
it tasted dry there is nothing wrong with that. However, in this situation we didn’t
take any bites because it looked very dry and nasty. [redacted] states there was
definitely an “Ulterior Motive” and that I am friends of the previous owner. I do
not know the previous owner. I don’t even know who the previous owner is. These are all [redacted]'s assumptions (us knowing the owner and needing money) [redacted]
stated that he returned the money the “NEXT DAY” that is not true. He did not
return the money until 2 days later (8/10/17). I understand they were closed
but really he should have given the money back the SAME DAY or at the least the
next day, but not 2 days later.  In my
experiences in fast food/restaurant you always want to make the customer happy.
You would think in this situation he would have apologized and made it right so
we would continue to give his business more business.  I was once told when you give bad customer
service that one person will tell 3 and those 3 will tell 3 and so on. [redacted]
was not apologetic and did not want to make it right. Instead he said that he was
placing my mother on a “BAN LIST” and she will not be allowed to order at his
business. What type of business person does that? And then to say in his
response that “WERE IN NEED OF CASH!” No he just needed to make it right and stop lying to make his business look like it makes not mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes no one is perfect. Learn from those mistakes to improve. What I would like to see from Cataldo's in the future would be good customer service, and edible food being served. My order was for almost $45.00 (24 pc. chicken & wedge) he offered to replace it with a 6 piece.... This is not right. We didn't eat any of the food we received that evening because it was not edible. We brought ALL the food back and we should have received our money back with an apology. We should never have had to argue about what the right thing to do was. If you sell something to someone, and it doesn't work or can't be eaten, the vendor should make it right by either replacing the item or items or refunding the sale price. NEVER should a customer be banned or told to leave, or even called names on social media as [redacted] did to my mother after she commented on a friends post that the restaurant was rude (calling her old and disgruntled and a cheapskate), because she  received bad service from his business. All I wanted in the first place was acknowledgement that they made a mistake and my money refunded. He refused to do so until 2 days later, and still has not apologized or acknowledged that they were wrong or at fault in any way shape or form. I have attached the receipt showing the date the money was refunded, the facebook screenshot comments of [redacted] calling my mother a hater, old and disgruntled, and saying he doesn't like to deal with cheapskates so that's why he authorized a refund and to please go to Little Caesars because they have cheap chicken and pizza. Thank you,[redacted]

Dear Ms. Bejarano and to whom it may Concern: On Aug. 8th at about 8:30 P. M. a very nice woman came in and ordered 24 pieces of chicken & wedges to go and she put it on her credit card. While she waited we had a cordial conversation. She left with her order and 25-30 minutes later I get a call...

from a woman saying the chicken is dry and she wants her money back. She claimed we cooked it twice or over cooked it. I proceed to tell her we buy our chicken from Cross Distribution we order and sell approx. 4-5 cases of chicken weekly (60 piece per case)and we separate and bag it in 4 piece baggies(breast ,thigh, wing, leg)and make it to order (15 min. Timer )in fryer and we never cook our chicken twice. But said if she wasn't happy she could bring her order back the next morning as it was already after 9:00pm and we were closed. She was fine with that. At about 9:30 we have someone banging at the door according to my daughter as she stays with the crew and cleans up. At that point I had already closed the Register and the credit card machine batch was totaled and I had gone home. The person at the door(the purchasers daughter which I had never met or spoke to)was demanding a CASH REFUND my daughter explains the sale was paid for with a credit card and we are not giving cash back and machines are closed. The next day we issued a credit reversal to the card. I believe they were in need of cash and figured this would be the road to take. There was definitely an ulterior motive as who would take 1 bite out of 1 piece of chicken and decide its Dry??then post all kinds of negative comments on connected (social media)the same night. (I will forward to you a screen shot of those posts).they were friends of the previous owner. If I continue to see Negative slanderous Post I will sue for Slander & Defamation. We Are a small family business and take pride in our product and service and would not jeopardize our good name over $44. Thanks [redacted] Sent from my iPhone=
