BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY SERVICES THAT THEY FALSELY ADVERTISE ON THEIR WEBSITE. I WISH SOMEONE HAD WARNED ME BEFORE I NAIVELY TRUSTED EMERGENCY WATER REMOVAL SERVICES THAT MY BELONGINGS WOULD BE WELL CARED FOR AND PACKED OUT IN A PROFESSIONAL, ORGANIZED, CONSCIENCE MANNER WITH CATASTROPHE PACK OUT SERVICES!!! If you care about anything you own and do not want everything you own either broken, cross-contaminated, or ruined during CPS pack out, then do not use this company!!! I had a Category 3 sewage pipe large volume spill which resulted in sewage water soaking thru flooring, drywall, furniture and any belongings that were in the affected area. It was chaos trying to salvage what we could as we were also trying to gather what we needed to be displaced from our home. CPS does not start work until they have you sign a Homeowners' Acceptance Form, which DO NOT SIGN. Due to the "Homeowner Contents Agreement" homeowners have to sign at the beginning of the Content Manipulation, Johnathon Davenport sited that they weren't responsible for any fault in the horrible method my home was packed out, he would not acknowledge, inspect the damaged/contaminated & cross-contaminated home contents, or correct the manner in which my home was packed out and/or items never removed out of the way so that reconstruction contractors could do their job. A month after my continued complaints, finally CPS said that the manager would be out to address all of my concerns (evidenced by my detailed emails and photos of damaged contents). A crew with a camera man arrived representing CPS, EWR, PCS, orchestrated by George Caswell (saying he represented CPS, but on Channel 5 news where they did this to another homeowner, he was supposedly representing EWR), came basically to attack me as the homeowner, sight blame at the homeowners (saying we were the ones that packed out our belongings that got destroyed, broken or cross-contaminated), the insurance company (Am Fam didn't do what they were suppose to by approving them to remove contaminated items outside of the home and not into a storage POD as I was informed by EWR would be used), and the reconstruction company (which they said was responsible for removing contaminated carpet/demo content. George Caswell promised to replace my items that were grossly contaminated ( even stating he would deliver new mattresses), and that they would FINALLY remove the sewage smelling items they packed into my master bathtub, shower, disinfect everything in the garage and move everything back into place after the reconstruction was completed. At the time, I still was pursing them to please move my home contents out of the way so the reconstruction crew could do their job and finish my home renovation related to the Category 3 sewage pipe spill. Ultimately I had to get yet another company to do what CPS lists as part of their function and purpose in their line of business. Regardless, they never showed back up or responded to me other than to pick up the blankets they left.
Ultimately, the company never resolved my complaints or physically obvious evidence of a faulty job. Jonathon Davenport, project manager with CPS denied knowing that anything left in the rooms that were soaked with sewage were still contaminated, so they packed all of it together INSIDE my home - into the kitchen, my child's bedroom, and my garage. Cross-contaminated everything I owned, dirty linens we used to soak up the sewage water was thrown in boxes, bags, containers that were put all together with everything else I owned. They broke several INVALUABLE collections of china painting, pictures, fragile items, storing it without bubble wrap in boxes, on my kitchen table, or haphazardly placed together. They put dirty items, even soiled trashbags from the bathroom with clothing, shoes, linens, etc in boxes they stored in my garage, on top of my leather living room furniture which was also not wrapped. I came home the day after they moved our home contents to find my Freezer door ajar, and everything defrosted (fish, chicken, hamburger meat, EVERYTHING) and a pool of horrid smelling liquid from this freezer wrapping around everything I already had stored in the garage and all of the contents that CAT PACK put in my garage. The temperature in the garage was hot, as it was September when this occurred which was the perfect environment (contaminated sewage items and spoiled meat/food) for mold and mildew to grow, which was exactly what happened. It didn't matter that I called them immediately over and over to please come back out because of the mess they left me inside my home and garage, no one came out until weeks later. I couldn't even get a reconstruction company to come out because of the smell of sewage in my home and in all three areas my contents were packed out into. It was the most costly mistake I ever made to rely on CPS with my home, I had to essentially replace thousands of dollars of home contents that were not salvageable. Do not make the same COSTLY mistake that I made by entrusting this company with your home!

Mrs. had a loss and has not paid a dime to us for that work. She has a husband who helped moved stuff around and put stuff that she is complaining about into the bathroom. We have packed out thousands of houses and have never had this problem in the past. She stated that we did a pack out when in fact the only thing we did was a very partial content manipulation, which was approved by the insurance company and she was paid from the insurance company. I visited the property back in 2019 after she complained. when we were there the rebuild company that she hired had put all her stuff into a corner and was piled like a bunch of garbage. I will put the video up on YouTube under private for you to see. She was complaining that we broke two things but I don't believe we did it. She was going into the boxes all the time and moving things around and that is how they break normally. This is normally about one thing, that is, she doesn't want to pay us. She has the insurance money and has not paid us one penny.

The guys who came to Pack Out our home for restoration were terrific! They were polite, congenial, fast, and very careful with not only all our furniture, but with all the other items that go on or around the furniture like lamps and books and small valuables. The contents of each box packed was also helpfully and carefully marked so it will be easy to put back on shelfs and tables! All items were well cared for.
Thanks for the good work, CPS!

Thank you, Mr. & Mrs ***, it was a pleasure serving you and we hope you getting back to "normal" after your water loss!

Utilizing this company as a service for water damage at my home, the Catastrophe Packout Service advised the 'damaging out and replacement for my personal home items during the use of their services,? has not been met in good faith or action. Many personal memorabilia and home items are missing, damaged or 'stolen,? and have not been replaced after several phone calls; written correspondence as well as email request for remuneration. I have contacted my home owners insurance company to assist with this situation. At my home owners request to file a small claims against Catastrophe Packout Services, I have started the process. Upon many telephone calls and letters, the CPS has not returned any calls or follow ups as requested. They have been paid in full by my home owners insurance, which leaves me no other alternative than to file this complaint with the Revdex.com as well as file for a small claim against Catastrophe.

CPS assists the the homeowner with assessing their damaged personal contents after a water or fire loss. We make a list and take accompanying pictures to document which are then submitted to the homeowner and their insurance company. We are required to leave the damaged contents onsite for 2 weeks so that the insurance company adjuster can inspect and make the final determination as to damage. At no time do we promise to "indemnify for damaged items" that is the purpose of homeowner's insurance, we are a packout company. Mrs. signed our Homeowner's Acceptance Form on 3/29/18 signifying her total satisfaction with our pack in service, which took 3 days. We were informed by her rebuild company that she was very unhappy with several things. In an attempt to satisfy her we agreed to go onsite with her rebuild company's representative, Johnny and go through each one of the issues. All of her issues with the exception of one were related to the reconstruction portion of her claim (again, a separate company, AYS). The complaint she had with us was wanting us to re hang things on her walls and it is our policy NOT to put holes in NEW construction, because of liability issues. Now, on May 20th (over 30 days later) the homeowner claims items were stolen. It is possible they may have been damaged items that had to be disposed of, at one point all the workers had to vacate the premises after moving a sofa due to a spider infestation that was discovered until an exterminator could treat. So unfortunately, there are several different companies that have access to the home. Items that are water damaged and show evidence of mold/bacteria growth cannot be reintroduced into the home because of cross contamination regardless of their sentimental value (eg. photos, plaques, any semi porous surfaced item). I would also add we have made several appointments with Mrs. only to have to wait SEVERAL hours without her answering her phone, due to Mr. health issues, we have been more than accommodating. I am personally responsible for the office and the phones and have not received any phone calls from Mrs.. We have only received one letter dated May 20, 2018, which again was 2 months after the Homeowner Acceptance Form was signed. She indicated there is video of people stealing things, we encourage her to contact her local authorities as we will not tolerate such behavior from our employees.

This company was hired to remove all of my items from my home because there were major repairs happening. The company moved all of my items out of my house, but when they moved my items back into my home, they damaged a significant amount of my property. The also did not finish the job. They left my home in shambles. I took pictures as evidence and the insurance adjuster did the same. In addition to them damaging my property and not finishing the job, they "staged" my bed in my master bedroom to look as if they had assembled it - as they should have. When I laid on the bed for 5 minutes, it totally collapsed. I was injured and had to go the hospital. This company is a scam and should be put put of business because of their dishonest, unethical business practices.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I should not be charged by this company! They really should be paying me for the damages they caused to me and my property.

I'm sorry, I was informed we'd have 30 days to respond. I have been investigating this customer's claims and have put together a timeline of events. She is right about her bed not being put back together properly and her table being scratched. That's why we sent out a repair people and she was very satisfied with the repairs when we spoke to her after the fact. Beyond that we have photo evidence that her contents were not left in the condition she is claiming & have spoken with her insurance co adjuster who concur she needs to honor the contract she signed and pay her bill. She has received the funds. We would be happy to work on further resolution but were not aware of any other issues until this report.
