Review: On 7/31/15i entered into an agreement with Catchinrays Solar to have solar panels and an emergency generating system installed at my home. At the time of signing I provided a $3,000 deposit and soon after this an initial progress payment of $9,735.93. Throughout August there were several email communications with our sales rep/account manager and things appeared to be progressing. On September 1st I received an email from Bill A[redacted], our sales rep, requesting another check for $9,753.93. I responded to that email stating: "So far haven't seen anywhere near the amount of work done that would justify the use of the >$12,000 already outlayed. When materials are delivered to the house I'd be happy to make next payment". Over the next 3 weeks I called & emailed Catchinrays on several occasions but didn't receive a response to my calls. On Sept 21st I drove to the businesses new address ([redacted], CT [redacted]) and spoke with Bill A[redacted]. He apologized for not getting back to me and stated that Catchinrays was unable to proceed with the installation of my solar system because our electrical contractor has stopped working for us. He also said "I was just write you a letter offering the opportunity to cancel and get a refund". I waited at the office for Bill to finish the letter and the next day sent him an email with a pdf of a signed decision to cancel and request for a full refund. That was just over two weeks ago and I haven't heard from Catchinrays since despite several calls & voice mails left at their office.Desired Settlement: Prompt & full refund of all monies paid $3000 + $9,735.93 = $12,735.93
Review: Cathinrays Solar did not stay on schedule with our contracted installation and did not reply in a timely manner when we emailed and called for an explanation. Eventually a reply was received that explained why they had been delayed in the installation of our solar panels as per contract. They asked us to choose an option: to be fully reimbursed and cancel the contract or go forward as contracted. We chose to be reimbursed. Again, they did not reply to our many emails and calls. When they finally did reply, they emailed a Release form for us to sign and have notarized. We responded immediately via email that we agreed to have this document ready for them to pick up when they delivered the check to us for our reimbursement. It has been 2 weeks since we heard from them last and we have emailed and called several times, but have not received a reply. The funds that we paid them were sourced from a home equity loan, which we must pay back, so we really need the money back in order to comply with our loan.Desired Settlement: Delivery of a bank check made out to us for the full amount of our payments to Catchinrays as soon as possible. Cancellation of contract.
