Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:i stand by my entire complaint with regard to Case Concrete. This was my worst experience with a contractor ever! I’m still dealing with his shoddy work over a year laterI needed more loads of dirt hauled in to complete the jobAnd yes, his forms are still there. This was my first complaint to the Revdex.comI’ve never had reason to bother but this was such a bad experience that I felt it necessary.Buyer Beware!Regards, [redacted]

First of all I, *** ***, would like to apologize to *** *** if his experience with Cate Concrete was less than desirableI have been in business for over thirty years, and the main driving force of my business has been customer referralsOriginally, I had priced a slab for his barnIn
actuality, the original bid for the concrete work never changedI thought we needed more dirt than I had projected, but did not end up needing itHe was never charged for any extra dirtI answered every question he ever asked meIf I didn’t respond to a text, it was because I had already answered the question he was askingOn this size of job, it is protocol to strip the forms the same day of pouring, with no damage to the concrete slabHe requested to come back and strip the forms at a later date, and I told him that, that would be a $upcharge, due to the labor of our guys going back out thereOur guys were on other jobs, and could not easily get over to *** ***’s slabThis is why we typically strip the forms the same day of pouringMy crew did clip his gate when pulling in, and the amount to fix it ($250) was deducted from my checkI never guarantee that concrete will not crackThe only thing that I can guarantee is that concrete WILL crack, and that is beyond my controlA shrinkage crack does not jeopardize the structure of the slabWhile all of this work was being performed, *** *** was out of town, and his father-in-law was overseeing the jobOn numerous occasions, his father-in-law complemented my crew, and their workmanship, and I do appreciate that*** *** had mentioned that he was going to turn this over to his lawyer (his wife)After a couple conversations with his wife she said that it sounded like this was a big misunderstanding, and that they would take care of the formsShe told me to consider this job completed

I (*** ***) want to apologize to *** *** if this experience was not up to his standardsI never meant to bully him in any form or fashionI originally bid this job over the phone, as I do many of my jobs and *** *** was fine with thatAs far as the delay *** *** is reffering to, it
had rained in the area for several daysI made numerous trips to look at the job, and it was too wet to move forwardCommunication was lost in the process by *** *** because his phone was not workingHis text that he sent to me read, and I quote “Sorry for the delay on this, my phone was washed in the washing machine and stopped working.” I performed the work in the way he positioned the building, with the door facing the direction of his choosingHe brought to my attention that the side that the door was on was too high, and he wanted a ramp to access itI then told him that there are multiple options on how to create the rampIt can be done with dirt, rock, etcI also told him that I was doing a lot of work in the area, and would come put a ramp up to the door if he wanted, free of chargeThe cost to put in the ramp was never discussed in the orginal bid of the jobHe did mention that the check was under the mat, and I was unable to pick it upThis is when they decided to hold my checkI never once threatened *** ***, or called him a nameI did say that I would have to take it to the next levelThe next level would be for my suppliers to file a lien on his propertyThere was abosolutely no threat involvedIf *** *** took this as a threat, that was not my intentI did drive to his house to pick up my check, but my only intention was to pick up the checkAt the end of the day, I did this job exactly to the specifications that he provided, and was shoted 10%
