Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/06/20) */
We are extremely disappointed in how this situation turned out and share the customer's frustration
We were initially called to this house on August 31st, What follows is notes from our plumber's records
" I was called for a leak
from a showerThe tenant stated that there were two leaks one from a shower and another from around the bathroom door near the shower surroundI ran the shower and confirmed that there was a leak from a shower pan with a pressure fitted drain assemblyFrom experience other customers have had issues with this model of showerWe also noticed that the P-trap drain was pressed up against a piece of wood strappingUpon seeing this I cut out the strapping and reseated the drain, figuring that the pan was shifting when people were using the showerAfter I was done I stood in the shower to see if the unit was shifting like beforeIt did notI then ran the water to check for leaks and my connections were solidI told the tenant what I didI informed them that the best way to test a shower drain is to use it since I cannot use their showerI informed them that we would leave open our work order to see if the problem was correctedAlso we encouraged them to not repair the hole in the ceiling until everything was fineWe also informed them that the second issue with the tub surround needed a carpenter."
We waited for a couple weeks before sending a billBefore we sent our bill we then get a call stating that the problem was not fixed
We went back on November 1st and cut out the drain again and replaced it with a new drain assemblyAfter we completed our repair we asked the tenant to use the shower as and to contact us if the problem persisted
While I was there I could not confirm if the shower was caulkedI also noticed that the shower surround may need to be replaced due to the installation of screws near the shower pan inside of the shower surround
After we sent a bill we were informed that there was still a problemWe tried several times to contact the tenant to no availWe left notes on the door, no recall
It is disappointing because our office is just around the corner from the tenant
We never did get a chance to review our workWe never did meet the landlord on site to tell her what was going on although we did offer to do thatIt is not like we ignored this issue
Our charges were for the time spent on site and the drain replacement
As for MrHubley being "rude" I witnessed the conversation and did not feel he was rudeMr Hubley told the customer he would have to avail of a collection service if they could not agree on a resolutionFurthermore he is recovering from a flu and his voice is not the bestIt was not his intention to come across that way
We feel we did our best and had no intention to leave this problem unfinished and unsettled
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/06/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is not an accurate account of the eventsI was the person asking for their service, not my tenantsEach time I called their office, I was put off, they would come by when they were available, they would have to speak to the plumber, we have billing systems, don't worry about that bill we sent, you would have to speak to someone else, MrHubley is away, etcetcI called another company who booked a mutually convenient timeThey fixed the drain issue in minutes, after his co-worker stood in a garbage bag and ran the showerHe told me the issue at this point was a drain that was put in place, but was not skrewed on at all, which left the water pouring out, causing the water damage downstairsHe didn't see any other issue, as the shower was fineThe ethics of your employees, and the service you provide to customers is inadvertantly up tp you, but the payment of a service I did not receive, and the next step I take, is up to me

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/03/10) */
Two plumbers from our company were sent to the residence to clear a kitchen sink waste that was clogged. Our men used an electric wire to clear the drain line from the sink. After filling the sink and letting it drain normally, our men left...

satisfied that the line was then clear. The customer was also satisfied.
When we received a call after the initial service call saying that the line was choked further down, we suggested to the customer to call the [redacted] as we believed it could be a chokage in the main line to the home and the Town would clear this for no charge. (where as we would have to charge the customer for another service call to clear the line with our sewer eel equipment). We tried to save the customer some expense by suggesting this. When we did not hear back from the customer we assumed that the Town had cleared it for her.
At the end of each day, our phone line is forwarded to a cell phone so we can provide 24 hour emergency service to our customers. I do not understand how any calls were missed from her as we had received and responding to four other emergency calls on Remembrance Day 2015 (the day that she said she tried to call us 3 times). Although, I am sure she tried to contact us, I cannot understand why she was not able to reach us. I am truly sorry that she could not reach us and that the back up of the sewer caused damage. We will cancel the invoice for the original call as we do not want any ill feelings between us.

Thank you very much for your understanding and for canceling the original invoice. Hubley's will still be our initial call when a plumbing issue arises thanks to your response.
Take care.
