***,
This is my rebuttal.
There is a total of items. After many email exchanges, Cavaliar Roofing and I have agreed on items 1, 2, 3, 5, and except for item (Ridge Vent) by February 1, 2016. I am also attaching the last email response with Cavalier and a copy of the certified Roof Inspector's Report done after Cavalier's roof installation detailing the roofing's installation errors and not installing to building code. Since we cannot come to agreement on item 4, I thought it is best to leave item as it is and deduct the average cost of repair from it as the estimated cost on the inspector reportThen, Cavalier elevated it and changed the game by sending me a final offer that would deduct similar amount BUT FOR ALL THE items. that means Cavalier would not fix any items. I cannot accept that. I would still left with a bad roof
Misrepresentation of *** ***
Item 4 is the installation of ridge vent on the roof. I wanted more air ventilation in the attic. When I met him I asked to install several black caps across the roof but he told me to go with ridge vent instead. From my perspective at the beginning, it didn't matter which option as long as there are more air ventilation in the attic is installed. Then I found on page of the Inspector's report that the ridge vent is 'useless'. Now they recommend to replace it by leaving part of the plywood open by just covering with black paper over it. I would not leave any part of my roof expose with just black paper over it. It is just matter of time that it would leak. They offer to have 2 vents put in the roof, but I am reluctant to have any more holes cut up in the roof after reading the inspector reportThe final outcome is to deduct the average amount on item and Cavalier did not have to fix it(See attachment on Item4HowCavalierWouldFix.xps)
Not according to Building Code
Item is missing flashing on front of the house. This is a building code violation. See page under of the inspector reportNot according to Manufacturing Installation
Item Shingles in the valley and damaged shingles. The shingles in the valley are not installed according to the Manufacturing Installation and there were damaged shingles as well. See page of the inspector report

***,
Cavalier Roofing and I are not resolved yet on the incomplete and installation issues on the roof at Blue Jay LaneThere still have open items to address. I have also included a attachment detailing items 4, 5, and wanted Cavalier Roofing to respond if they are going to fix items 4,5, and before going to fix items 1, 2, and 3. The attachment on items 4, 5, and is inspected by an licensed Roofing Inspector. On Jan 10, I had met them at the service property trying to address the issues but all the issues were disputedOn item regarding the Lien Mechanics Wavier, Bill Crostic has threatened me on a text message that he would file against my property. There is no reason I do not take this issue lightly. Since he has initiated the Lien Mechanics filing text and when I made my final payment I would now insist he provided me the Lien Mechanics Waiver from himOn item Damaged front fence. This issue does not pertain to Revdex.com. It is a whole different matter. I just need to know if I take it to my insurance to claim it directlySie

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The business performed the action and consider this complaint resolved.
Regards,

Very professional, Great workmanship, good value. Highly recommend them for roof repair or replacement.

Review: On December 8, 2015, Cavalier Roofing was contracted to remove the old roof and put the new roof at [redacted] with the condition that it is completed by 12/31/2015.

On 01/06/15, Bill C[redacted] texted me that the roof was on.

On 01/10/1, I do a final checkout and discover the work is incomplete. Here is the list

01)Did not reflash the metal on the weathered wood as stated in contract.

02) The pipe collar at the back of the house is not done

03). The edge of the shingle next to the carport is lifted upward. This will cause water to enter or wind damage.

04). The ridge vent was not properly installed. The wood sheathing boards along ridge were not fully cut out.

05). Missing flashing between shingles and wall on front and right side of the main house.

06). The shingles in the valley were not properly installed according to manufacturer installation specification. Also showed surface damaged shingles in center of valley due to cutting of the shingles. Surface damaged shingles need to be replaced which will lead to leaking.Desired Settlement: I am holding 50% of the remaining payment and would like a resolution with Bill. I am unable to talk to him as he has threaten to void warranty, charge $50 for every day I did not pay the remainder and place a mechanic's lien on my property.

Resolution means to complete the incomplete work and fix the roof properly according to the manufacturing installation. Because he mentioned that he would place a mechanic's lien, I would now require him to provide me a lien waver when the work is complete and fixed and payment is paid in full.

I am in receipt of your letter to me regarding the complaint no. [redacted]In response, Mrs. [redacted] complained that the job was not done by 31 Dec: 2015.We had 2 holidays and also steady rain for 9 days. It was impossible. She alsocomplained to me several times on the 10th when I met her that I did not tear the old roof off but put the new shingles on top of the old roof- This was not thecase. Explained to her the process of why there were 3 shingles. They were Istarters. Obviously this already got us off on the wrong foot. The pipe collar is not a pipe collar but a pipe that is connected to the furnaceinside the house. I am not licensed to remove this pipe. She will have to contactan HVAC company if she wants it removed. I explained this to her when we met.Attached is the letter which she sent to me and I received an January 14 2016.Martha at Cavalier Roofing Services contacted her by phone on January 15, 2015and left a message for her to please call and she would arrange for the superintendent to be at the house at noon to address and fix these problems. She also sent her an e-mail as well as a text and she has not heard anything from her at all until January 19. She was requesting these items be fixed byJanuary 19. Obviously they were not done due to her lack of cooperation.I am responding to your request in order that I received them from you. 1. All metal stated in the estimate was performed.2. Gas vent was explained above. It is not a pipe collar.3. It is not the shingle that is lifted at the carport. It is where the carportwas added to the home and the framing is higher than the rake board onthe home. This condition existed prior to the installation of the new roof.4. The ridge vent was installed per GAF specs.5. Was not aware of this problem and was not addressed on 1/10.6. The valley is fine and in the event there should be a problem the work is warranted for 20 years.7. As for the mechanics' lien it was not filed and she is confusing amechanics' lien with a mechanics' lien waiver. The waiver is used for titleinsurance to insure the title and a mechanics' lien insures any contractorwho has not been paid will be upon the sale of the property if not before.Mrs. [redacted] had asked us to check a 1x6 board that was damaged on thefront right side ''A" of the home. We replaced any bad wood on the roofSubsequently it was not wood at all but rake metal that had been paintedand was reinstalled with 16 penny nails prior to our roof installation.I have attached a copy of the initial contract signed by Mrs. [redacted] alongwith a copy of the letter which she sent me and o copy of the e-moil fromMartha addressing her request.Mrs. [redacted] called and left a message on Martha's phone saying she couldmeet the super on Tuesday l/Z6 to go over these items again and pick upa check from her.The only issues that are not in the contract and need to be addressed isNo. 5 (mining flashing and shingles with surface damage). Again theclient has a 20 year warranty. We will proceed with the schedule to meet Mrs. [redacted] @ noon on 1/26 providingthe weather is acceptable. Martha explained to her that the weather willdttermine this meeting. If there is any snow or ice on the roof at all, theW,orkers cannot go on the roof. Dur insurance, specifically workman's comp, will Inot allow any workers an any roof under these circumstances.Should you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me. ;Thanking you in advance, I amSincerely Yours, Bill [redacted]Cavalier Roofing Services, Inc.
