Cayucos Motel

Review: My wife and I stayed at this motel on 4/18/15 and 4/19/15. We were with several others who had their own rooms. We paid their charge of $321.90 for our 2 night stay. I recently went through our bank statement and saw that there was an additional $100.00 charge that posted to our checking account on 4/21/15. I telephoned their office on 5/23/15 to inquire. The person who answered could not help me and advised the owner would call me back. Two hours later I received a call back. This person, who did not identify themselves as the owner, said we were charged for smoking in the room and the owner "knew" we did and 4 people complained. We did not smoke in the room. We smoked outside by the patio furniture. My wife did pick up some cigarette butts from outside and placed them in the garbage out of courtesy. We are really upset as we do not smoke anywhere inside. Not in our car or our home. All of us felt they were rude and condescending. The owners allow their dogs to roam free. One defecated by where we were allowed to smoke and they left it there for 2 days. Further, my wife became very ill after eating their cream cheese from their "continental breakfast". There was also another visitor, I did not know, who was violently ill the entire time they were there. I do not know if that is related or not. The staff said nothing to us the entire time we were there, did not call us to inquire or send us a letter or email. This is a matter of principal to us. The above is a completely honest evaluation of what happened during our visit. We were with 5 other people who can attest to our treatment during our stay there.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the entire amount of $421.90. I would like an apology for them acting without reaching out to us to inquire and to discuss. The $100.00 charge is completely without merit. I actually would like to speak with the other 4 people who complained as I can assure you there will be no names provided. I would happily provide you with the names and contact numbers of the other 5 visitors that were with us. They would be agreeable to discussing this matter with you.
