Review: I took my 2006 [redacted] to Jiffy Lube for an oil change on 2/17/14. While I was in the service room going over the services to be performed with a service member ([redacted] American, I believe he had a limp), another service member ([redacted]) came into the service room with a dirty air filter with leaves throughout. The [redacted] American service member suggested I should have my air filter changed as it was "dirty." I asked how much it was. He said it was $49.99. I specifically asked him if the air filter in the hands of the [redacted] service member belonged to my [redacted], and he replied, "Yes." I told my husband would take care of it later and declined air filter replacement. The next weekend, my husband purchased and installed a new air filter in my [redacted]. My [redacted] filter was completely different from the air filter which I was shown at Jiffy Lube. The air filter at Jiffy Lube shown to me, and represented to me that it belonged to my [redacted], was a trapezoid-like shape and extremely dirty. My actual air filter for my [redacted] was rectangular-shape and narrow, and, it was pretty clean. It did not need to be changed, and I am really upset that the Jiffy Lube service members were dishonest and tried to trick me into changing my air filter by showing me a dirty one that wasn't even mine and stating that it was mine. This is totally unacceptable.Desired Settlement: Because Jiffy Lube led me to believe that my air filter needed to be changed, and I actually acted on JL's advice, I'm requesting that JL reimburse me for the air filter that my husband bought from Auto Zone and that he actually installed when it wasn't necessary. I'm also requesting a voucher from Jiffy Lube for replacing my air filter when, in fact, it actually needs to be changed at some future date.

Review: December 2012, the owner of a 2007 Ford F-150 brought his vehicle into Jiffy Lube for an Oil Change. One week later the vehicle owner began having issues with his truck. After several visits to [redacted] it was discovered that Jiffy Lube installed the wrong oil filter on the truck. This caused damage to the cams and destroyed the 2007 5.4 engine. [redacted] confirmed that the cause of this damage was a direct result of the oil filter that Jiffy Lube installed. Without the permission of the vehicle owner Jiffy Lube removed the oil filter from [redacted] and broke the chain of custody of the oil filter causing the damage. The owner of the vehicle has tried to work with the management team at independently owned Jiffy Lube without resolution and poor customer service. Within the last week the owner of the vehicle has called the General Manager of Jiffy Lube ([redacted]) requesting status for taking ownership of the damage and paying to have the vehicle engine restored. The repairs requires a new engine. In past conversations with the General Manager he claims that the oil filter had to be sent off for testing assuming that the oil filter sent to the manufacture was the same oil filter that came off the truck.Desired Settlement: At this point several weeks have passed since the claim has been filed with Jiffy Lube. The owner of the vehicle wants Jiffy Lube to pay for damages to the 2007 F-150 XLT 5.4 by replacing the damaged engine with a new engine as recommended as the only repair option by [redacted]. Other options may introduce further issues down the road as metal shavings are in the engine. In addition the Jiffy Lube establishment should refund the owners expense(s) for services provided by [redacted] troubleshooting and repairing the engine issues as well as refunding the initial service provided by Jiffy Lube in which caused this damage. In addition the owner is requesting that Jiffy Lube provides a written statement to the owner detailing the facts behind the use of such filters on 2007 Ford F150s (in that year range) and written assurances that the product will not be used on other Ford F-150s or a justification as to why the product is not removed from use. As a consumer the owner of the ve
