CB&A Construction

I contracted with [redacted] of CB&A Construction to replace my old 'ribbon' driveway with a new concrete one,and also to remove an old garage pad from my back yard and replace it with a new 'larger one ( for me to build a new garage on it at a later date). His crew came out to do the work on 6-3-11 and on 6-7-11.

I had him to include in the contract that he would add a expansion joint between my driveway and my house foundation - his workers didn't; and he refuses to do anything about it. I also had him to make a note on my contract that he would cover the work his crew performed for a period of one year - he hasn't. There are 3 low places in the concrete that his crew poured that don't drain water correctly. One is at the bottom of the garage apron where - instead of the water draining away from the garage, it actually drains back towards the garage. The second is near the middle of the garage pad where water actually drains over to the left side of the garage rather than to the door area where it is suppose to. The third place that contains a faulty slope is the front walkway. It drains the water back towards the house rather than away from it. I've spoken to [redacted] on the phone about these issues and he sent his "concrete specialist" to see what my complaints were. This guy only insulted my intelligence by trying to make me believe that the problem with the low spots was that dirt along the edge of these 3 areas was too close to the pavement surface. What does the dirt have to do with the direction of the rain water flows when it rains? When I phoned [redacted] about these concerns he blew up at me on the phone accusing me of being a nitpicker; someone who only wants to complain about something.

I would not want to this guy to build me a dog house after this. I don't recommend him to anyone who wants to get their work done correctly.

I don't plan on letting this go until he has made this right.
