CC's Painting Reviews (3)

Review: I hired CC’s painting June 15th of 2013 for an exterior house painting job. I paid $6327.50 with the job being completed by a one person crew on August 20, 2013. I was told that the painting work was warrantied. As of May 2014, the paint was peeling all around the house. I was than told that it was not CC’s Painting companies fault. That it would be roughly about $1800 to fix as given an estimate on May 25, 2014. CC’s Painting is suppose to be the expert and I have a hard time believing that I, the home owner is responsible for peeling paint.

[redacted].Desired Settlement: I'm asking for $1800 refund to repair the improper work that was performed.

Response:

The exact issue with the business is that I paid for my exterior house to be painted and within less than 1 year it's peeling. I was verbally told there was a warranty at time of purchase and now they are not fixing it without wanting to charge me $1800.

I paid in full for a job that was not fulfilled on the CC's painting company side.

Review: we have a contract for some painting and they keep changing the amount they are going to charge because it is taking longer. He pulled the painter off the job and the job is not complete. the owner was very rude to me.Desired Settlement: complete the painting as stated in the signed contract

Review: My issues with CC's Painting LLC are twofold. It was upon looking into the first issue that I also discovered I had been overbilled for the cost of paint and also paid for paint that was never even purchased and a gallon and a half of ceiling paint that was purchased but never used and not left for me. When I noticed on the contract a gallon of paint that was allegedly purchased that I knew wasn't bought (as my sample quart had been used on the job) I went to the Sherwin-Williams Paint store and obtained the receipts. That is when I discovered that I was upcharged $237.88 for paint. I paid CC's Painting $440. for paint and the receipts total only $252.12. The agreement is that I paid for the cost of paint and and additional $50. for misc. supplies (none of which were left for me after the job was complete and none of which were on the receipts for my job). I was also told my paint would cost more per gallon since I had requested a low VOC paint due to being pregnant and having a child with asthma when my job was being done. It turns out that the SW standard paint is ALL low VOC, so I accepted the higher paint cost thinking them to be valid to protect my baby and daughter's health.

I was also told that I was being given a 15% discount per his online coupon, but the price I was charged ended up being $5. more an hour than what I was told (after the fact) in an e-mail that his rate was $35 and hour. I paid $40. per hour for a total of 36 hours to paint a Kitchen, half bath, Family room and hallways. I have had other painters look at the space since then and conclude that my job could not have come close to that amount of time, but for the sake of this I am not focusing on what I believe to be fraud in that matter.

In our first meeting I emphasized that I had 4 and a half (baby due a few months later) children and needed the paint finnish to be easy to clean. We discussed an eggshell (which I had on the walls at that time) or a satin. Our discussion was witnessed. However, the morning of the job, [redacted] called and has his painter ask my husband what we wanted and then said painter told my husband that a Flat finish was standard. This is in direct contrast to Sherwin-Williams website (flat is never OK for high traffic areas or rooms that kids use a lot) and every other website regarding painting that we looked at after the fact. When I called [redacted] to tell him the wrong type of paint had been used, he assured me that the flat would be just fine to clean with kids. Withing six months my walls looked terrible. When I e-mailed him to see what could be done he became hostile and that is when I did further digging into the job and discovered the overcharges. I had an attorney send him a certified letter spelling all of this out and he called and told me he would not sign for the letter.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the amount overbilled for paint $237.88 and painting supplies that were not on my receipt for $50. or any brushes ect. left at my house. I was billed $40. an hour for 36 hours and charged $1,440.00. I should have been charged $34. and hour with the 15% discount which would bring my total down to $1,224.00. I would like a refund of that difference for $216. The total for all three items is $503.88. I have a good small claims case due to the fact I was charged for paint that was never purchased or used on my job and have receipts to back that up. I have a very strong small claims case, but would rather have this matter resolved quickly.
